My personal entry to the
Age: 41
BW: 187

Squat: 200kg/441lbs (comp/lifetime PR)
Bench: 130kg/286.5lbs (comp PR)
Deadlift: 230kg/507lbs (comp/lifetime PR)
Total: 560kg/1234.5lbs (comp/lifetime PR)

Woke up at 5am like every other day lol. But today nutrition was all out of whack. Had been organizing for our annual Armory Invitational Powerlifting meet all week. Trained clients, arranged the gym some more, then started lifting. Didn’t have the warm up time I would like to have. And was rushed to get our lifts in before we had to be somewhere else. No matter I went hard and BIG!

Got a little overzealous on my 3rd Squat attempt, I’ve never attempted anything above 455(1st GGC where I did my best 435) in my life but that 440 flew and was the best I’ve felt in years. So I said I was going to try 210/463 and at the last second my ego said but what about 214/471… Well you see how that went 😜
Then when I stalled in the middle of a 133/293 Bench my QL cramped up so bad I waved my third attempt to save it for deadlift, which I wanted more. Never have been the best bencher anyway. I first hit a 220/485 which was my max at the last 2 GGCs, got what I wanted last, 227/501 PR and then that 230/507 which swelled my confidence. I know what I plan to attack and move forward with. I will Squat 475+, I will Bench 300+, and I will DEADLIFT 550+

At 78, Joan MacDonald reversed arthritis, shed 68 pounds, quit medications, and reclaimed her life through daily weightlifting.

She began at 70 with a “Wonder Woman” program emphasizing structured workouts, hydration, sleep, and macronutrient tracking.

Her five foundational habits—lifting five days weekly, tracking macros, drinking water, prioritizing sleep, and steady effort—fueled sustainable gains.

Non-scale victories included bench pressing 80 pounds, eliminating prescriptions, regaining mobility, and inspiring 1.9 million followers.

Joan’s story shows that with support, consistency, and small daily actions, anyone can reboot their health at any age.
