My name is Nelson Thomas. I’m currently enrolled in the Master’s Clinical Mental Health Counseling Program at Lamar University, with a projected graduation of Fall of 2025. I’m currently seeing clients in both the College Station and Brenham offices of Brazos Valley Mental Health and Wellness under the supervision of Sherry Haferkamp-Watson, Psy.D. I take clients of all ages and backgrounds. My hours are flexible to accommodate most individual schedules to include both day and evening hours.
Being a disabled vet who served 19 years as a firefighter/EMT in the Air Force, I have witnessed the impact of individuals who have struggled with PTSD, anxiety/depression, bipolar disorder, and substance abuse. As a result, my passion for helping others resulted in becoming the founder and Executive Director of Survivors Against Su***de (non-profit organization).

Don’t let what has happened in your past derail your future. I will guide you from the darkness of your past into a brighter tomorrow. We will collaborate together, focusing not only on your healing but also on moving towards manner your life purpose and aspirations.
