Happy Friday! What’s better way to end the week than cute kids meeting a sweet dog?

Twins Merrick and Caulder were coming in for a quick checkup when they ran into volunteer Denise and therapy dog Betty. Nothing beats those giggles! 💙

OCH has always been special to mom Jacki and her twins - she spent two months in the Women’s Specialty Care Unit awaiting her babies’ arrival and weeks waiting to bring Caulder home from the NICU. It’s even more special now that she can see her kiddos running around, laughing and being kids!

The grass may be green and the sun may be shining, but some winter holiday magic just made a summer stop at Oishei Children's Hospital! 🎅🏼❄️

Thanks to Paul Bologna NYS Assembly and Assemblyman Patrick Chludzinski, and generous donors from across Western New York, it was Christmas in July in the hospital halls. Patients were treated to a surprise visit from Santa and even got to choose their own toy! No snowflakes in sight, but there was plenty of giving spirit - thank you to the Assemblymen and all who made the magic happen!

A day of connection, understanding, growth and compassion 💙

On July 8, we hosted our Smiling Through Tears Kids Bereavement Camp—a safe, supportive space for children and teens to come together and connect with others who understand the pain of losing a parent or sibling. Throughout the day, our campers formed unforgettable bonds as they processed their grief alongside peers who could truly relate. With guidance from our child life specialists, each child had the opportunity to explore their emotions in healthy, age-appropriate ways, while honoring the memory of a loved one they've lost.

Thank you to our incredible team of child life specialists who plan and facilitate the Helping Children Grow through Grief Support Group. Their work ensures we can offer this annual camp free of charge to children and teens in our community!
