The Mindfulness Alliance will host labyrinth walks for peace as part of the 18th Annual World Labyrinth Day. Around the world, people walk labyrinths at 1:00 p.m. local time, creating a rolling wave of peaceful energy passing from one time zone to the next.
Walking together becomes a powerful expression of global connection and compassion. Participants walk not as spectators to the worldโs challenges, but as participants in shaping a more compassionate future.
Whether familiar with labyrinths or new to the experience, all are welcome to participate in this free, meaningful collective practice.

The Mindfulness Alliance combines the power of mindfulness practices and the power of community building to advance collective wellbeing. Together, we can build healthy flourishing regions where individuals, institutions, and systems embody greater compassion, justice, and inclusivity.
The Alliance was first conceived after a successful inter-institutional collaboration that resulted in the first-ever SUNY-funded Mindfulness & Health conference in 2016 in Western New York, which sold out with 400 attendees. Building on the energy of the conference, a multi-sector social change collaborative was formed. Regionally, this blooming initiative now includes k-12, health care, and higher education professionals - and continues to grow.
What makes The Alliance unique is our focus on contemplative community-building to foster awareness-based social change. Our efforts have received national recognition from the Center for Contemplative Mind in Society, who published an article on this pioneering work in the Journal of Contemplative Inquiry.
But The Alliance is not just about Western New York! We envision powerful social impact networks across disciplines and sectors to foster collective wellbeing in every region of New York and beyond!
Our core intentions include: (1) Co-creating a culture of wellbeing that fosters healthy, equitable, and resilient communities; (2) Building awareness-based collaborative ecosystems for social change in every region; (3) Re-envisioning leadership from โmeโ to โweโ; and (4) Amplifying our collective work - which includes yours!
