GO Buffalo Niagara is a program of GObike Buffalo that grew out of a collaboration between the Greater Buffalo Regional Transportation Council, Buffalo Niagara Medical Campus, GObike Buffalo, Niagara Frontier Transportation Authority, and others to help advance an evolving alternative transportation system in Buffalo, NY that emphasizes walking, biking, public transit, ridesharing and carsharing over drive-alone trips. We aim to increase awareness of, encourage the use of, and improve access to healthier, greener, and more equitable transportation options so that we all have the resources and knowledge necessary to make smart and informed decisions about how we get from place to place – and how we can all work together to reduce the negative impacts associated with unnecessary car travel. By taking advantage of alternative transportation options, we can not only improve our own health, but the health of our environment and the health of our communities. Funding for GO Buffalo Niagara is provided through a Federal Department of Transportation Congestion Mitigation and Clean Air (CMAQ) Program grant.
