Zumba is such a fun way to get moving! With upbeat music and easy-to-follow steps, it feels more like a dance party than a workout.

Movement is an important part of the physical dimension of wellness. It helps keep our bodies strong, improves balance, and boosts our mood. When we enjoy how we move, it’s easier to stay active.

A special shoutout to Dawn Hammer, a wonderful Zumba instructor who gets residents moving and having fun. Her energy makes every class enjoyable for everyone.

Join us for our monthly Zumba classes and experience the fun for yourself!

Our Cooking Creation class featured the classic Monte Cristo sandwich.

This sandwich, known for its crisp exterior and layers of ham, turkey, and melted cheese, is often finished with a light dusting of powdered sugar and served with jam. It is believed to be inspired by the French croque-monsieur and became popular in American cafés as a sweet and savory variation.

More importantly, today marked the start of our hands-on cooking program with residents. Everyone will have the opportunity to take part in preparing the meal, including assembling ingredients and even choosing recipes.

The room was filled with great conversation, familiar smells, and a shared sense of enjoyment.

Cooking together created a meaningful experience. This is just the beginning of many more cooking creations to come.

Buffalo Center Education Fair was a Resounding Success!

The Buffalo Center recently hosted an exceptional three-day Education Fair, led by Angela, Regional Director of Education, and Nurse Educator Cheryal, whose vision, leadership, and dedication brought this meaningful event to life. What truly made this event stand out was the teamwork behind it—it was clearly a collaborative effort, with team members from all departments coming together to support, teach, and learn.

Through strong collaboration, careful planning, and a shared commitment to staff development, the fair proved to be an engaging and highly effective learning experience for all who attended. In addition to Angela and Cheryal’s leadership, Michelle (ADON), Madison (Assistant Administrator), and Val (DON) played an integral role in the preparation and ex*****on of the event, working closely alongside them to ensure its success.

AKG art gallery has accepted Buffalo Center’s application to participate in the Community Access Program (CAP).

CAP is a free program that supports organizations working with under-resourced groups and people with disabilities to explore their own creativity. This includes guided tours, hands-on art workshops, and discussions based on participants’ needs and interests. Groups build greater connection to art and to each other through meaningful art-making projects, and participants increase levels of self-expression.

Six Buffalo Center residents are lucky enough to participate in this four week program every Friday in March! Today, residents learned about and created pop art!
