“Happiness is the way.”
“Happiness is a choice we make.”
“We are as happy as we make up our minds to be.”
“Happiness is an inside job.”
These quotes are all true.
Happiness is not something that we get from the outside, it comes from a place within.
Happiness is a state of being that we can uncover within, connect to, and choose to “be” anytime.
So why then is happiness so elusive for many people?
My take is this:
First of all we are not meant to feel happy all the time. Life is difficult. We suffer, we feel pain, we feel alone, we feel abandoned.
This is truth.
I believe that our greatest obstacle to the choice of happiness that lies within is the mind.
We think over 70,000 thoughts a day with more than half being negative, and 85% of the negative thoughts we’ve had over and over for years.
And so many of the negative thoughts we have are directed at us.
We are constantly bombarded with thoughts that we’re not worthy, enough, or capable.
We direct these harmful, false, negative thoughts non-stop to ourselves.
If we want be happy we must first begin by being happy, proud, kind, loving, thoughtful, generous, and grateful for who we are as an extraordinary human being.
The friendship you have with yourself is the foundation for everything you do in life.
When you love yourself completely, become a worthy travel companion for life’s journey, then you can see the “something beautiful” in your life when you’re feeling low and sad.
When you truly believe deep within your heart, that you are worthy of happiness, you will begin to see happiness.
