What a trip to the jungle of Peru taught me in business 🌿
I spent six hours face down in the jungle vomiting everything I had been lying to myself about.
That was the best business decision I ever made.
Not because I went looking for a breakthrough. I went because I was falling apart. The relationship. The mental health. The quiet terror underneath every deal I closed and every goal I hit.
Every other door had closed. I was desperate enough to try something that scared me.
The medicine does not care about your revenue targets.
It cares about truth.
And truth is the thing most of us spend our entire careers avoiding.
What I saw that night stopped me cold.
I had been building from fear. Every deal. Every goal. Every accomplishment stacked on top of the last one. All of it driven by a terrified girl who believed that if she stopped performing she would disappear.
Hard thing to see about yourself when the life you built looks like confidence from the outside.
Here is what no business program ever taught me.
Your business is a mirror. It reflects your internal state back to you with perfect accuracy. When I was dysregulated things contracted. When I was grounded things opened.
The quality of your business cannot exceed the quality of your inner life.
After that I rebuilt everything. Stopped taking clients who drained me. Started charging what I was worth. Rested without guilt for the first time in my adult life.
Revenue did not skyrocket overnight. Nobody posts about the season of less. The letting go before the growing.
What grew was solid. Built on truth instead of performance.
That is the work I do now.
If something in this landed and you want to understand what is actually underneath the patterns in your business, I have a Strategy Session built for exactly this conversation. 90 minutes. Link in comments.
