Healing Through Action

Healing Through Action I work with highly sensitive women and mothers who are struggling with the overwhelm, anxiety and stress that gets in the way of feeling calm and present.

I also work with pregnant and postpartum women experiencing perinatal mood and anxiety disorders. Are you a mother who feels stuck in anxiety and shame? Are you finding it hard to create balance in your life? Perhaps you feel like you've lost who you are. You are not alone. You deserve to live a life of connection and wellness. I believe that therapy is a collaborative experience to explore and move through the challenges in your life. I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), a Registered Drama Therapist (RDT) and am Perinatal Mental Health Certified (PMH-C). In addition to my work with highly sensitive women, I have extensive training in perinatal mood and anxiety disorders, The Gottman Institute's "Bringing Baby Home" facilitator training, and Perinatal Interpersonal Psychotherapy (IPT) through the IPT Institute. I am also a "Mommy and Me" group educator. I am a mother myself, who loves to be outside in my garden when I'm not working or chasing after my preschooler.

There are many treatment options for PMADs and recovery is possible! Yes, parenthood is hard, but your shouldn’t have to suffer through it.

Private Practice Story

Healing Through Action provides personalized counseling services, wellness groups and creative arts therapy in a private practice setting, allowing clients the opportunity to slow down and explore their stories so they can live more mindful, connected and enriching lives.

I help women, mothers and creative professionals who feel overwhelmed and stressed out from the pressure they put on themselves and the unrealistic messages they receive from society. I support women who want to break free from the pressure and perfectionism that prevents them from living more centered, mindful and connected lives. Are you finding it hard to create balance in your life? Perhaps you feel like you've lost the sense of joy, creativity, and spontaneity that you once had and feel like you have nothing left to give? You are not alone. You deserve to live a life of connection and wellness. I believe that therapy is a collaborative process to help in healing the whole person, connecting the mind, body, and spirit.

I work with families in the process of transitioning and adjusting to parenthood, whether you are a pregnant couple wanting to plan for a healthy relationship once baby enters the world, a parent struggling with postpartum depression and anxiety, or you have the desire to look at the deeper meaning of your role to break patterns that have traveled through generations within your family of origin.

I also specialize in working with anxiety centered around being a creative professional. It’s more than a job, it’s a calling and so much of your work is tied into your sense of self. It can be incredibly challenging internalizing the uncertainty and rejection that often goes hand in hand with being someone whose soul is called to be an artist. I am here to help you explore the many parts of who you are and incorporate coping strategies to help manage the overwhelm that can all to easily find a way to take over and rob you of the peace you deserve.
