Tag a hairstylist who needs to see this. You’re welcome.

She thought the pain was just part of the job. It wasn’t.

After years behind the chair, her wrists and neck were breaking down. She came into our office barely able to hold her scissors, and left pain free.
Hairstylists are athletes. You use your body every single day to create art for other people. But nobody told you how to protect it.

That ends today.

If you’re a hairstylist dealing with wrist pain, neck pain, or shoulder tension, this is your sign to stop accepting it as normal.

We help people like you get back to doing what you love, pain free.

Most people think an adjustment “didn’t hold.”

But that’s usually not the real problem.

If your posture or movement patterns have been off for years, the muscles around the joint have adapted to that position. When the joint gets corrected, those same muscles can pull it back.

That’s why adjustments and corrective exercises go together.

The adjustment restores motion.
The exercises train your body to keep it.

When both work together, the results last longer.

Most people think stress comes from big events.
But a lot of it builds from small daily habits that slowly overload the body.

Three common ones I see:

• Forward head posture – increases load on the cervical spine and can keep the nervous system in a constant alert state.
• Mouth breathing during sleep – associated with poorer sleep quality and reduced recovery.
• Rounded sitting posture – places sustained flexion stress on the lumbar spine and can reduce glute activation.

None of these feel urgent in the moment.

But over time they compound into neck tension, low back pain, fatigue, and reduced performance.

The good news: once you’re aware of them, they’re all fixable.

Inflamed wrist on a professional dancer.
When joints lose proper motion, surrounding tissues often become irritated and overloaded.

After restoring movement through targeted adjustments and soft tissue work, the wrist and the rest of the body moved much more freely.

Your body works as one connected system.

She came in for neck pain and headaches.

But something unexpected happened during care…

Her digestion improved, her sleep got better, and she told me she had a bowel movement for the first time in 4 years — something she called life-changing.

We weren’t treating digestion directly.
We focused on restoring motion in her upper cervical spine, where the brainstem helps regulate the body.

When the nervous system communicates better, the body can start doing what it was designed to do.

7 years of tailbone pain after one fall.

She landed directly on her coccyx and ever since then sitting became extremely painful. She couldn’t sit comfortably on a chair or even on the floor, and over time the pain started affecting her entire body.

After trying different approaches without relief, she came in for a chiropractic evaluation. We focused on restoring motion in her tailbone and spine with specific adjustments to reduce the stress placed on the area.

In today’s visit she shares her progress as her tailbone mobility continues to improve and sitting is becoming possible again.

Tailbone injuries (coccyx injuries) can sometimes linger for years when the joint never fully regains normal movement.

Sometimes the body isn’t broken — it just needs the right motion restored.

Your upper neck does more than just support your head.

The top cervical spine sits right next to the brainstem, one of the most important control centers in the body.

When this area isn’t moving properly, it can influence how your nervous system communicates with the rest of your body.

That’s why some people notice changes in things like:

• sleep quality
• digestion
• blood pressure regulation
• ringing in the ears
• dizziness or vertigo

The goal of a precise upper cervical adjustment is to restore motion to the joints so the nervous system can function more efficiently.

Your neck might be connected to more than you realize.

If these symptoms sound familiar, it may be worth having your spine evaluated.

Your brainstem sits right where your skull meets the top of your neck.

This small area is one of the most important control centers in the body.

The brainstem helps regulate things like:
• heart rate
• breathing
• blood pressure
• digestion
• sleep cycles

That’s why the upper cervical spine (C1 and C2) plays such an important role in how your nervous system communicates with the rest of your body.

When movement and alignment improve in this region, the nervous system can function more efficiently.

Many patients are surprised when they notice improvements in sleep, digestion, or energy — even when they originally came in for neck pain.

Your neck is connected to more than you think.

Save this post if you want to understand your nervous system better.
