Have you all ever worked with someone with paralysis in CN 3?? What about on both sides??? This sweet man suffered a stroke that affected the ability to lift both of his eyelids…essentially making him blind!!! Here we are working on coordination and balance to help decrease fall risk!!!

A veces, cómo decimos algo importa más que lo que decimos. Un tono calmado y afectuoso abre la puerta a la conexión. Tu tono puede ser lo primero que escuche tu hijo — haz que transmita cuidado, no crítica. Una voz calmada es la clave para un corazón que escucha. Los niños recuerdan más cómo dijimos las cosas que lo que dijimos.

This is the longest cranial nerve in the human body. It acts as an information highway between the 🧠 & gut.

The nerve is the longest of the 12 cranial nerves and sends electrical and chemical messages between the brain and various parts of the head, neck, and torso, playing a crucial role in functions such as digestion, heart rate, breathing, speech, and mood.

Here are some of the functions:
•Bidirectional Communication: The vagus nerve serves as a two-way information highway, transmitting messages from the body to the brain and vice versa.
•Gut-Brain Axis: It is central to the gut-brain axis, influencing digestion and even the signals of reward from the body to the brain.
•Diverse Functions: Beyond the gut, the vagus nerve helps regulate a wide range of bodily functions, including heart rate, respiratory rate, blood pressure, and immune response.

Overall, this nerve is a key part of your parasympathetic nervous system. Vagus nerve damage can lead to gastroparesis, food not moving into your intestines. Vagus nerve stimulation can also treat epilepsy and depression.

Amazing Fort Worth resource. provides free laundry mat use the first Saturday of every month at this Camp Bowie location, and 3rd Saturday at Turbo Laundry on Granbury Rd. They have crafts and snacks for the kids, detergent, bleach, dryer sheets. Times are tough, get signed up if you need some help! Very clean and such friendly staff and volunteers!!
