Hello! For anyone still here with me, I have moved back to St. Albans and I am re-opening my private practice here to see individuals and also create groups in the community.
It was an unexpected twist of fate but it feels really just as it should be. For the last 3 years I have been living in Burlington working with kids and adults in community mental health. I also got to explore many passion projects with many amazing humans. I helped in opening an art collective, worked with a mutual aid group, started doing performance art and holding art shows. It has been an incredible time, also very stressful given the state of things and the effort it takes to survive and thrive.
There was a weekly yoga class created to just show up, be together and do your own practice without much instruction. It flowed together so freely and beautifully. Allowing for conversation, break downs and explosions of enjoyment.
Almost everyone there was also part of the same mutual aid group deepening connections and work together.
Based on that class, I was just invited to participate in the MAD pride march on 7/12 @ Battery Park to create a space for meditation and yoga. Come on thru if you can.
Also, I have been experimenting with human interactions and creating groups to explore who we are together doing exercises to go deep and connected. It has been challenging and educational to discover just how much resistance we all have and how much willingness to work together anyhow because we know it’s important.
We are working on some street theater ideas too and other ways to keep the arts and human expression alive and well. The amount of talent in everyone is incredible. I have learned a lot about myself and others through the trials and tribulations of relationships and effort.
So here I am, in St. Albans, and creating a practice to teach meditation and yoga privately again. The waiting lists for doctors and therapists continue to grow and this work is valuable. I have also started yoga therapy school and am continuing my work to help people explore and expand who they are and finding the needed relief and focused attention forward. We are amazing aren't we? The work being done together despite the challenges? It is a lot to keep momentum going.
I love this work with people and have started seeing clients already. It has been really impactful and deepening in all the good ways. A web-site with more information and scheduling will follow in the coming weeks.
Also, if you have a group that would like to add some mindfulness and good feeling expansion, please reach out. I am beginning to reach out to schools and organizations, like hospitals, recovery centers, and support groups. Especially if you are a teacher or know people that work in schools that want some mindfulness for kids in the coming school year, that is a focus.
These times certainly are asking for something new and to me a good way to get there is by breathing, expanding and moving forward from where we find ourselves.
My best to you all and all of us.
