Ms. Carol visited Byron Heritage Church Preschool on Tuesday and brought the clay pumpkins that the children had fashioned on her last visit. They were finally dry and needed a fresh coat of paint to make them look festive. Each child chose the color that they wanted for their pumpkin and painted them with great care. When they finished, they were very proud of their creations. Thank you Ms. Carol for sharing your love of art with us.

🧐Do you see any turkeys?🤔 Yeah, me neither. 🤷‍♀️ Our preschoolers and their families did an excellent job of disguising their turkeys! 🥸I don't think any of these guys have to worry about ending up on the Thanksgiving dinner table! Such a fun family project!

Mr Doug visited Byron Heritage Church Preschool last week and brought some of our favorite science experiments. Using and old film canister, some water, and an Alka-Seltzer tablet he showed the children how air pressure building up inside a container can pop the top off of it. This amazed and thrilled the kiddos! Then, he showed how air pressure created by blowing into one end of a straw could make a paper rocket fly off the other end. The children thoroughly enjoyed testing this scientific principle by trying to hit a target on the floor. Thank you Mr Doug for making science so much fun!

We had a fun time at the Byron Heritage Church Preschool costume party on Thursday. The kiddos paraded their cute costumes for the parents and grandparents in our Christian Fellowship Center. After the parade, the children played games, collected candy for their efforts, and enjoyed some yummy snacks provided by our wonderful families. Thank you to everyone who provided snacks and came to enjoy this special holiday celebration with us!

On Tuesday, Ms. Carol visited Byron Heritage Church Preschool and brought two cool art projects for our kiddos to make. First, she showed the children how to make fun flying ghosts using a straw and a square of paper towel. The kiddos loved blowing into the straw and causing the paper ghost to fly into the air!
Next, she gave the students some clay and instructed them to roll it into a ball. After that she gave out small pieces of sticks for them to insert into their clay ball for a stem. Then she helped or let them score the sides of their clay ball making it look like a real pumpkin. She took them home to let the clay dry and promised to bring them back on her next visit to be painted. Thank you Ms. Carol for bringing art projects that are fun to make and bring out our student's creativity!

To highlight our study of community helpers this week, Firefighter Clint Ford visited Byron Heritage Church Preschool. He talked to the children about fire safety and what they should do if they are ever in a burning building. He put on his turnout gear one piece at a time explaining how it protects him when he is fighting a fire. After he had put it all on, he crawled around on his hands and knees to show the kiddos what he looks like up close so they would not be afraid of him. No firefighter demonstration would be complete without practicing STOP, DROP, and ROLL! Thank you Firefighter Ford for taking time out of your day off to bring our students important information that might save their lives one day.

Mr. Doug visited Byron Heritage Church Preschool on Tuesday and brought our favorite hands on science experiment; Rainbow Wizard's Brew. By participating the children discovered that mixing colored vinegar and baking soda causes a chemical reaction that makes the liquid flow over the top of the container that they are poured into. This excited the kiddos and they could hardly wait for their turn! After all had had a turn to cause an eruption, they looked in the bottom of the catch basin and saw a rainbow of colors that they made together. Thank you Mr. Doug for showing us that Science can be SO MUCH FUN!
