Perinatal Mental health and Mood Disorders: I bring over twenty years of experience as a midwife specializing in mental health challenges throughout pregnancy and postpartum year. I also provide mental health specialization support during reproductive changes, including premenstrual disorders, fertility challenges, and menopause transition. Integrative and Holistic Care: While psychotropic medications may be helpful, they are not the whole answer. Often, lifestyle changes, non-pharmaceutical support, and complementary therapies are needed for to treat underlying causes and a more complete remission of symptoms. Supportive Therapy and the Therapeutic Alliance: Collaborative and patient-centered care is essential for people to feel heard and empowered to take an active role in their recovery. Trauma-informed care: So many mental health problems are rooted in trauma. This needs specialized training to address appropriately to avoid re-traumatization. Childhood: I offer specialized care for anxiety, depression, and ADHD, using conservative therapies and medications at the lowest effective doses. Substance Use Disorder: Abstinence-only programs are frequently unattainable for many people. Medications are available for those people who struggle with addictions.
