Delta Elite K9 Search & Rescue We hope to help bring positive memories to families in the midst of tragedy and in their time of emergency. Thank you for your support. Please join our family.

Several months ago we formed to help the ever growing issue of the missing. It is a very emotional and rewarding mission that we have decided to undertake. It does not come without many obstacles and many hours of dedication. This dream takes us away from birthdays, holidays, and families for unknown periods of time to help people regain the ability to make those memories. We appreciate any suppor

t that can be given and hope you follow our journey. We are currently spending time training, learning, and growing from founding late in 2016. We discovered a very large need for a team such is ours in our area after several missing person teams did not have the assistance of K9 resources. We want to change that. We want to build networks, friendships, and gain knowledge on this journey of changing lives, including our own. Please visit our go fund me page to help make this dream a reality. We hope to soon be available 24 hours a day / 365 days a year with cadaver, land, and water tracking capabilities. Please contact us with any advice, comments, or education. We are very receptive to anyone with advice. Thank you to everyone who takes the time to help us with our dream.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the family and friends of Lt. Allen Credeur and the Rayne Police Department.

It is with deep respect and gratitude that we acknowledge the bravery of one of our own, Firefighter Grace McCluskey, who was involved in a serious incident yesterday afternoon.

While on her way home, Firefighter McCluskey came upon what appeared to be a motor vehicle accident. Demonstrating the selflessness and commitment to service that defines our profession, she immediately pulled over to render aid, unaware that the individual involved was engaged in a police pursuit with local law enforcement. Without hesitation, she acted in accordance with her training, prioritizing the well-being of those in need. Tragically, in the course of her response, she was shot—an unimaginable consequence for simply doing what she has dedicated her life to: helping others.

We are immensely relieved and grateful to report that Firefighter McCluskey is doing well and is now recovering at home. Her strength and resilience serve as a testament to her character, and we are confident that she will make a full recovery.

We ask for the continued thoughts and prayers of our community, not only for Firefighter McCluskey but also for the Florence police officer who was injured in the same incident. Their dedication to serving and protecting others is a reminder of the risks that first responders face every day.

We would also like to take this opportunity to express our profound appreciation for all firefighters, EMS personnel, and law enforcement officers who put their lives on the line daily to safeguard our community. Their unwavering commitment to public safety does not go unnoticed, and we stand together in support of them.

Thank you for your continued prayers and support during this time. Let us all rally around those who serve, ensuring they receive the respect, gratitude, and assistance they so rightly deserve.

My boys are united again. K9 Bones unexpectedly passed away this afternoon. Him and Homer were the beginning of this great team and he will be dearly missed.
I have taken a step back temporarily and want to thank Melanie Martin for keeping this team thriving and all of her sacrifices she has made for me and everyone else involved.

Good morning, Delta Elite followers! Just a reminder that we do presentations to school kids of all ages, church groups and any other group interested in learning more about what we do. We cover topics including what to do if you get lost and how to collect and preserve a scent article for your kids or anyone caring for an elderly person. For church groups, we do presentations based on Bible verses about the similarities between the commands God gives us and the ones we give our dogs. For any LE, Wildlife and Fisheries, Fire Departments, First Responders and other agencies, we offer information about how our dogs can work with you in certain situations to provide support in your missions AND how you can support a search team during those times. There is never a charge or fee for any of these!! If you’re interested in having us visit, we will begin booking such events beginning January 1, 2025 and we will be available for Lincoln, Union, Claiborne, Jackson and Ouachita parishes in Louisiana and Union County, Arkansas. Leave a comment below or message this page for further information!

Hope everyone’s day is going well! Please keep those affected by Hurricane Helene and the hundreds of people involved in their rescue in your thoughts and prayers.
Today’s topic is what would you do to help searchers find you if there were no means of communication in the aftermath of a storm? Here are some ways:
1. Use a mirror of any size (the bigger the better) to reflect the sun rays toward any aircraft overhead. Move it slightly back and forth to simulate a *flashing beam*.
2. Use any tree limbs, branches or any other items you can find to create large “SOS” letters in an open area.
3. Build a fire in an open area large enough for smoke to be seen by searchers.
4. Look for anything that will make loud noises. What is available to use? Items such as an air horn from a boat or simply using a vehicle horn are generally usable. Be resourceful and think outside the box. A large metal trash can or lid can be extremely loud when struck with a limb.
There are numerous others! What would you do?

Join us in prayer for all of the search teams on the ground working diligently in the areas affected by Helene. While it’s a game to the dogs and one they love to play, the handlers know the seriousness of the missions. They have a monumental task every day as they still have not reached all of the communities yet. Your prayers are needed and coveted!❤️❤️✝️✝️
