Psoriasis is a chronic inflammatory, autoimmune skin disease that manifests as red plaques and silvery-white scales, commonly found on the scalp, elbows, and knees, accompanied by itching or pain.
Types
Ordinary type: red patches covered with scales, most common.
Dotty type: small red dot-like lesions, most common in children.
Pustular type: accompanied by pustules and generalized discomfort.
Erythrodermic type: extensive redness and flaking of the skin, seriously life-threatening.
Arthritic type: also affects the joints, causing pain and stiffness.
