Transitions from work to home let your body and brain know that it’s time to relax.

The goal is to have the intention that this activity will help you transition and relax!

My favorite ways include changing my clothes right away, taking a hot bath, or going for a walk or run.

Share in the comments how you transition to home after a long day of teaching.

A little reminder as many are getting ready to or spending time with family, friends, and loved ones. Nothing is personal. This has been a big message for me lately ❤️💚

I’ve been thinking about intention lately.

Prayer. Manifestation. A vision.

Your vision directs your intentions.

Who are you? Who do you want to be? Where do you want to go next?

Your vision should be clear in your minds eye. Write it down. Imagine it. What does it feel like?

Then you move with intention.

Now your actions have a clear outcome. The path of "how" is not necessary. The how is found by dropping in with a deep presence. It's found by listening to your intuition. 🩵

I’m always redefining and rethinking my self-care practices. Lately, my self-care has included a lot of physical movement- walks, runs, and yoga, journaling, baths, time at the beach, and talking with my therapist or friends.

What are some of your current self-care practices? Share in the comments below!

I’m adjusting my boundaries with my new grade level change. I’ve also been working on getting back into my work routine. Summer is wonderful and I love doing whatever I feel like at any given moment, but the past 2 weeks have been a struggle lol.

What work boundaries are you working on? I need to set a time to leave school each day because I have been working waaayyyy past my contract hours 😅

I’m teaching 4th grade this year! I spent 6 years teaching 6th grade and 4 of those years I taught only math and science. The decision to make a grade level change was not an easy one, especially for someone like me who preaches work boundaries and self-care. I knew a grade level and classroom change would be a lot of work.

Last year I was burnt out, I had lost my passion and love for teaching and the students could feel it. I was applying for other jobs outside of teaching and outside of the classroom.

I was feeling fed up with the behaviors and lack of support in 6th grade. I didn’t get any of the positions I had applied for. I needed to control what I could so I decided to make a change.

My love and passion for teaching have been renewed. Working extra doesn’t feel like a chore (at least not yet). And when it starts to I will be cutting back on my hours of prep. (One of my boundaries is no work outside of school UNLESS it is on something you enjoy.)

Change is scary and hard. Our human brains thrive on predictability and consistency. Change is a transformation. You never know what is on the other side.

Something I have learned is that we can only control so much and the rest is up to Source to decide. I believe we are always protected and supported no matter the situation. The only thing we can control is how we RESPOND to a situation or a challenge.

Choosing change is a response. It’s taking a leap of faith and hoping that it all works out. I am so glad that I took the leap!
