A coastal low has developed off the coast and will impact our area beginning this afternoon through Wednesday morning. Rain totals of 2-3" are expected with the potential for higher amounts in some areas. Wind gusts up to 30mph are expected along with minor flooding in low lying areas.
𝙏𝙞𝙢𝙚𝙡𝙞𝙣𝙚: Noon today through early Wednesday.
𝙒𝙞𝙣𝙙: 15-20mph sustained winds gusts of 24-30+ mph. NE Winds
𝙍𝙖𝙞𝙣: 2-3 inches of rain today through early Wednesday with the heaviest of rainfall from this evening through Tuesday evening.
𝙁𝙡𝙤𝙤𝙙𝙞𝙣𝙜: Minor flooding may occur in low lying areas. However, due to the Northern winds, we are not forecasted to receive any inundation.

🚒🔥 Joint Training with South Mills Volunteer Fire Department 🔥🚑

Camden County EMS had the opportunity to participate in a live burn training alongside our partners at SouthMills FireDepartment. Our EMS crews assisted with accountability and provided rehab support.

Training like this helps strengthen teamwork, improve response coordination, and ensure we’re all ready when real emergencies happen.

A huge thank you to South Mills VFD for the invite and the chance to practice side by side with such dedicated partners! 💙

Delivered with care to Camden, Pasquotank, and Perquimans County 📦

Frontline teams in these communities are now stocked with extra supplies to respond to the opioid crisis. Thanks to county Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC) funding, we have been distributing more than 13,000 naloxone and drug testing kits to agencies in our region this summer.

Also known as “Narcan,” these kits will help first responders and support organizations reverse the effects of an opioid overdose. Along with providing these kits, these agencies will also be able to make personal connections with individuals and share about local resources and recovery opportunities.

Naloxone kits are a proven tool in the opioid epidemic and preventing overdose deaths. With each box of supplies, we’re giving communities the power to save lives and support recovery!

While many are enjoying a day of rest, our crews remain ready to answer the call whenever our community needs us. Your commitment, sacrifice, and service never go unnoticed.

Camden County EMS is proud to share a story of exceptional emergency medical care that resulted in a life saved!

On the evening of August 6, 2025, Pasquotank-Camden Central Communications received a 911 call for a citizen in Camden County who had gone into sudden cardiac arrest at their home. Emergency Communication Specialists immediately dispatched first responders and Camden County EMS while providing CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) instructions over the phone.

Camden County EMS crews arrived quickly and began advanced life support, working seamlessly alongside the South Camden Volunteer Fire Department and the Camden County Sheriff's Office - NC

Thanks to the rapid response, skilled care, and teamwork, the patient regained a pulse and was transported by Nightingale Regional Air Ambulance to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital, where they continued receiving life-saving care.

This morning, first responders and EMS had the opportunity to meet with the patient and family. It was a powerful reminder of the impact that timely response, strong teamwork, and compassionate care can have on the lives of our citizens.

🚸Back-to-School Safety Reminder from Camden County EMS🚸

As our students head back to school on Monday, Camden County EMS wants to remind everyone to stay alert and keep safety first—especially around school zones and buses. Let’s work together to keep our children safe this school year!

🚌 School Bus Safety Tips for Drivers:
🚸Stop for school buses: It’s the law! When red lights are flashing and the stop arm is extended, all traffic must stop—both directions, unless on a divided highway.
🚸Stay alert in school zones: Slow down and watch for children crossing the street.
🚸Avoid distractions: Put the phone down and keep your eyes on the road.
🚸Be patient: Allow extra travel time during pickup and drop-off hours.

Tips for Parents & Students:
🚸Arrive at the bus stop early and stand at least 3 giant steps from the curb.
🚸Always wait for the driver’s signal before crossing the street.
🚸Remove earbuds and avoid distractions when near traffic.
