Do scoliosis researchers think that the tight spinal cord may explain idiopathic scoliosis in kids?

In this 2016 paper, Dr. Burwell theorizes the tight spinal cord as the initiating event leading to the structural changes of scoliosis. The technical terminology for a "tight spinal cord" in the literature is "asynchronous neuro-osseous growth causing tension in the neuraxis".
