Dr. Joseph Nemeth III received his Doctor of Optometry and his Bachelor of Science Degrees from Illinois College of Optometry. He provided primary and advanced eye care in a private practice in Ohio for 30 years. Following his relocation to Bluffton, he continued to practice vision care, first in Pooler, GA and now in Bluffton. With an outstanding reputation for quality care in a friendly and compassionate setting, Dr. Nemeth provides comprehensive examinations on all age groups, including toddlers and children. All examinations include a refraction, a slit lamp exam, an intraocular pressure screening, and a retinal exam. ​Additionally, Dr. Nemeth diagnoses and treats eye infections and ocular ailments such as Blepharitis, Dry Eye, and "Pink Eye". Dr. Nemeth will also monitor secondary eye conditions associated with systemic diseases(e.g., diabetes, hypertension, thyroid disease) and may diagnose and refer patients for treatment of ARMD, Glaucoma, cataracts and suspected neurological diseases. Specializing in the fit of contact lenses, Dr. Nemeth can prescribe lenses for all types of eyes and situations. Whether you wish to wear contact lenses on a daily basis or for occasional use, such as sport activities or weekend events, he is an expert at prescribing the correct lenses for your eyes. The field of contact lenses is continually changing, as are the reasons that makecontacts attractable to a wider audience. Most patients can now be fitted with oneof the many new options that offer freedom and flexibility for all of your daily activities.
