Most sports drinks, the ones in every gas station, grocery store, and vending machine, are built around three ingredients that have no business being in something you drink for your health.
The first is brominated vegetable oil. It was originally developed as a flame retardant. Food manufacturers found it useful for keeping artificial flavors suspended in liquid, so in it went. It builds up in your body over time and has been linked to nerve damage and memory issues. Several countries have already banned it.
The second is artificial dyes Red 40, Yellow 5, Yellow 6. That vivid color in the bottle isn't natural. These synthetic dyes have been tied to hyperactivity and behavioral issues, particularly in children, and carry mandatory warning labels across much of Europe. In the US, they're still showing up in drinks marketed directly to kids.
The third is high fructose corn syrup. This cheap, processed sugar spikes blood sugar fast and fuels inflammation.
You deserve a better option, which is exactly why we created Earthley's Electrolyte Powder. Clean ingredients, nothing hidden, and it actually does what hydration is supposed to do. No dyes, no corn syrup, no flame retardant chemicals making their way into your body.
Here's how to make a similar version on your own in the meantime:
