Tom Hardy is autistic. He revealed it publicly at New York Comic Con, almost in passing — “I just sound like I’m on the spectrum. Because I am.”

He didn’t make a big deal of it at the time. But he’s been quietly making it count ever since.

He has now teamed up with BJJ brand Tatami Fightwear to promote the AUTSiders collection — a full line of Jiu-Jitsu gear celebrating neurodiversity and autism acceptance. Rashguards, shorts, and training kits featuring phrases like “Zero Eye Contact”. Bold, unapologetic, and built for the mats.

Proceeds go directly to autism charities — and Hardy has been asking his followers to recommend which organisations should benefit.

Researchers have discovered that autism and ADHD may share a hidden biological signature — deep in brain connectivity and gene expression patterns.

The study, published in Molecular Psychiatry, found that symptom severity — rather than the specific diagnosis — was linked to distinct connectivity patterns, with many associated genes shared across both conditions.

Researchers used neuroimaging combined with spatial transcriptomic analysis — mapping which genes are active in which brain regions — and found overlaps that had never been visible before.

The findings suggest autism and ADHD may be better understood as overlapping neurological traits, not entirely separate conditions. For families navigating both diagnoses — or still waiting on answers — that matters.
