A Way Out

A Way Out As a result of our ongoing efforts, many who are motivated to change and who want help can find it.

We provide resources for clients: which includes addiction assessments, treatment solutions, peer recovery support, family support groups, therapy for family members, and financial aid to motivated alcoholics, addicts and their families. A Way Out is a non-profit organization based in the Western Slope of Colorado that provides counseling referrals, addiction assessments, solution oriented programs, and financial aid to motivated alcoholics, addicts and their families. A Way Out’s focus is to support residents of Pitkin, Eagle and Garfield county, who are unable to secure an appropriate level of care to overcome their addiction(s). We focus on providing the expertise and accountability necessary to empower men, women and teens in these counties with addictive behaviors to thrive in recovery. A Way Out was formed to help people who cannot seem to break the addiction cycle and who truly want to find a new way of life. The organization is comprised of caring individuals committed to helping people find a full life in sobriety.

Did you know: You can support A Way Out with the shopping you do every week at City Market?! That’s right, the City Market Community Rewards Program supports local organizations by donating annually based on the shopping you do throughout the year. All you have to do is shop at City Market using your Shopper’s Card or alternate ID.

Here’s how it works:
1. Create a digital account at http://www.citymarket.com or sign in if you already have an account.
2. Search for ‘A Way Out’ or ‘RE521’ at https://www.citymarket.com/account/communityrewards
3. Select A Way Out from the list and click “Save”.
4. Any transactions moving forward using the Shopper’s Card number associated with your digital account will be applied to the program, at no added cost to you. City Market will donate annually to A Way Out based on your percentage of spending as it relates to the total spending associated with all participating City Market Community Rewards organizations.

Not a City Market shopper, but want to support our work? You can make a one-time or recurring monthly donation through our website: https://awayout.org/donate/

We believe that recovery shouldn’t be isolating–it should be fun, social, and a way to build meaningful new relationships with those who truly understand the challenges and rewards of recovery.

That’s why our Peer Engagement aftercare program is an essential part of our client’s recovery for 12+ months after treatment! Activities like skiing, snowshoeing, weekly yoga, pottery, pumpkin carving, and white elephant parties are just a few examples of free events that foster connection and community in recovery.

Since we founded our Peer Engagement Program in 2018, we’ve seen that over 90% of those who stay engaged with aftercare support have maintained their sobriety, a 20% increase compared to those who attend treatment alone. This clearly demonstrates the power of fostering strong, positive connections for lasting recovery.

Whether you’re an A Way Out alum, have just started your recovery journey, or are looking to build community in long-term recovery, we welcome you to join our free events throughout the year!

Upcoming Events:
🧘 Join us Tuesdays at 8am & Fridays at 5pm at The Meeting Place Carbondale
for yoga for the recovery community
⛷️ You’re invited for an evening of skiing under the stars Saturday, February 21st at 5pm at the Snowmass Rec Center.
