Every parent has MANY stories about speaking up for their child. They also have many wonderful, heartening, and beautiful stories about watching their children learn how to communicate for themselves. Do you remember the first time you saw your child begin to communicate their needs or wants? Please share in the comments! Taking a moment to express my gratitude for being included in the Handbook of Quality of Life for Individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder. My story is Chapter Two: "A Parent's Perspective on Life with a Side of Autism". I'm lucky to sit at the cross-section of professionals and . I hope that in telling my story I help parents feel seen and heard and remind practitioners of the parent's perspective. I also want parents to better understand the perspective of .
