Today we celebrate World Down Syndrome Day! 💙💛
Here are a few facts you may not know about Down Syndrome:
💙 It is a genetic condition caused by an extra copy of the 21st chromosome.
💛 Many individuals with Down Syndrome are strong communicators! Some use verbal speech, while others use sign, gestures, or AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication, like speech generating devices)!
💙 Early intervention, including speech therapy, can make a big difference in helping children with Down Syndrome thrive!
