Katy’s art therapy practice can help people of all ages navigate life’s many moments with creativity and compassion. She uses traditional materials like paint and clay, along with everyday items and found objects, to help her clients explore and understand themselves and their world. Sessions with Katy are a collaborative effort, where the therapist and client work together to problem-solve and make sense of what brought the client to therapy.
Katy curates welcoming, inclusive, and supportive spaces, requiring no artistic skills—just a willingness and openness to explore, try, and learn. Paints and markers transform into resourceful tools, producing tangible products of insight. Katy is an empowering guide for building self-esteem, cultivating healthy relationships, enhancing communication skills, and healing the self while being human in this busy world.
Katy attended the University of Indianapolis for Pre-Art Therapy in 2005. She attended IU/Herron School of Art and Design for Art Therapy in 2022. Katy is currently a Licensed Mental Health Counselor Associate (LMHC-A). Katy would describe herself as a “creative-living enthusiast” whose whole world involves creating of some sort. She is almost constantly creating, experimenting, designing, teaching, researching, collaborating, learning, advocating, or participating in shows, exhibits, or initiatives. She enjoys music, nature, traveling, and spending time with friends and family. In the “free” time she has, she can be found playing board games, attending live performances, or spending time with her two dogs, Zoe and Jack.
