It’s more than just a 'sensitive stomach.' 🩺 April is , and we’re breaking the stigma. IBS affects an estimated 25–45 million Americans, yet many suffer in silence.
While stress can trigger symptoms, IBS is a recognized functional GI disorder with real physical causes. Common symptoms include:
✔️Abdominal pain and cramping

✔️Changes in bowel habits (diarrhea, constipation, or both)
If these symptoms are affecting your quality of life, you don't have to manage them alone. Call 770-214-2800 or visit https://WestGaGastro.com to request an appointment.

Happy First Day of Spring! 🌷 As the world outside starts fresh, why not give your gut a new beginning, too? Spring is the perfect time to "plant" some healthy habits for a happy gut.
Here are a few simple tips from our team:
🥬Eat seasonally: Incorporate fresh, spring produce like asparagus and leafy greens, which are great sources of fiber and prebiotics.
💦Stay hydrated: Warmer weather means it's even more important to drink plenty of water to support digestion.
🚶Get moving: Take a walk outside! Regular, gentle movement aids digestion and can help with bloating.
If you've been dealing with ongoing digestive issues, the change of season is a great reminder to check in with a specialist. Visit our website at https://westgagastro.com/ to schedule an appointment.
