All my life I've lived in survival mode. It took a stay at a clinic to start the deep work of recovery, and I want to be honest with you—I'm still in that process. I'm not standing here as someone who has "arrived." I'm a 59-year-old grandmother on a ranch in East Texas who is learning, day by day, how to stop fighting her own body.

What I have found are simple, natural anchors that support my healing journey. Ten minutes every morning before the house wakes up. Bare feet in the grass. Salt in my water. The rising sun on my face. A breath that tells my nervous system: you are safe.

Why am I putting salt in my water every morning? đź§‚

When you've lived in survival mode as long as I have, your adrenal glands are often exhausted. They've been pumping out stress hormones for years, and they are thirsty for minerals.

One of the simplest ways I support my nervous system on the ranch is by "mineralizing" my first glass of water. A pinch of high quality sea salt provides the electrolytes my body needs to communicate safety to my brain.

It's not a "cure," but it's a vital anchor.

In my healing journey, I've learned that our bodies aren't "broken" - they are just trying to survive. When we give them the minerals, the sunlight, and the grounding they crave, we stop fighting against ourselves.

This is just Step 1 of the 5-step routine I use every morning to stay ready for my husband, my kids, and my grandkids.

All my life, I’ve lived in survival mode.

For years, my nervous system was on high alert, and I didn't even realize there was another way to exist. It took a stay at a clinic to finally start the deep work of recovery, and to be honest, I’m still in the process. I’m not "fully healed"—I’m a 59-year-old grandmother who is finally learning how to breathe.

Living on the ranch in East Texas, I’ve found simple, natural ways to support my healing journey. It’s not about a "quick fix," but about the small, grounded anchors I use every morning to communicate safety to my body.

I’ve put these steps—from mineralizing my water to getting my bare feet in the grass—into a guide called The Morning Matriarch. It’s how I stay steady so I can be the heart of my home for my husband, my kids, and my seven grandkids.

A lot of modern entrepreneurial language quietly worships override.

"Move before it's comfortable."
"Act despite fear."
"Push through resistance."

That works for people whose nervous systems are baseline safe and just need activation.

Here's the part most of those voices won't tell you:
*Safety precedes sustainable courage.
*Regulation precedes capacity.
*Trust precedes momentum.

And yes - eventually movement happens. But it happens from alignment, not defiance.

The Kingdom pattern actually supports this:
*Even Jesus withdrew.
*Even Jesus waited.
*Even Jesus didn't heal on demand.

Power flowed when the timing was right - not when it was impressive.

So your inner response to those high-pressure posts can be:
"I'm not moving until my body agrees to come with me."

That is a woman who finishes what she starts.

Not the flashiest story. But the one that lasts.
