Nobody talks about what motherhood does to your nervous system. But it’s the foundation of everything - your patience, your sleep, your health, your presence. 💚

From pregnancy through postpartum through years of motherhood, your nervous system shifts into permanent high-alert mode. Constant vigilance. Always “on.” Someone always needs you. Your needs always last.

Your body was designed for temporary stress (deal with threat, return to calm). Not 18+ years of chronic activation.
When you’re stuck in sympathetic dominance (fight-or-flight):
-You’re exhausted but can’t sleep (tired but wired)
-You have zero patience left
-You’re irritable over small things
-You feel anxious even when nothing is “wrong”
-Your body won’t relax even when you try
-You feel disconnected from yourself

This isn’t “just being a mom.” This is nervous system dysregulation. And it shows up physically: chronic tension, headaches, digestive issues, brain fog, exhaustion that sleep doesn’t fix.

Your body is screaming that your nervous system needs support.
We help maternal nervous systems shift from chronic survival mode back into regulation. Upper cervical adjustments support vagus nerve function (helps you calm down). We restore your nervous system’s ability to downregulate after stress.

We can’t take away motherhood’s demands. But we can support your nervous system so you can handle those demands without completely depleting yourself.
Motherhood is hard enough.
You don’t have to do it with a dysregulated nervous system.
You deserve to feel like yourself while being a mother.
You deserve a nervous system that can rest. You deserve support.

Your menstrual cycle isn’t just affecting your mood - it’s directly regulating your nervous system.

MENSTRUAL PHASE (Days 1-7):
Estrogen & progesterone lowest. NS impact: More introverted, lower stress tolerance, pain sensitivity increases, fatigue, emotional vulnerability.
What NS needs: More sleep, gentle movement, adjustments support sensitive NS, say no to extra demands, nourishing foods. This isn’t weakness, it’s biology.

FOLLICULAR PHASE (Days 8-13):
Estrogen rising. NS impact: More energy & motivation, better mood, higher stress resilience, improved focus, social & outgoing.
What NS needs: Capitalize on energy (schedule workouts, big projects, social events), this is your power phase - lean into it.

OVULATION (Days 14-16):
Estrogen peaks, LH surge. NS impact: Peak physical/mental energy, highest confidence, most social, best communication, peak stress resilience.
What NS needs: Schedule important conversations, presentations, push harder in workouts, make big decisions. You’re unstoppable.

LUTEAL PHASE (Days 17-28):
Progesterone rises then CRASHES if not pregnant.
Early luteal (17-23): Progesterone has calming effects, may feel more relaxed/introverted, energy declining.
Late luteal/PMS (24-28): Progesterone crash = NS dysregulation. Irritability, anxiety (sympathetic activation), emotional sensitivity, sleep disruption, food cravings, physical symptoms (bloating, headaches).
What NS needs: Days 17-23 honor slowing energy. Days 24-28 EXTRA NS support - chiropractic adjustments, magnesium, quality sleep, stress reduction, gentle movement, avoid overcommitting.
Upper cervical adjustments during PMS week help regulate NS during hormonal crash.

How chiropractic supports hormonal NS changes:
Upper cervical spine (C1-C2) affects hypothalamus (controls hormone signaling), pituitary gland (master hormone gland), overall NS regulation.

When upper cervical balanced: Hormonal signals communicate clearly, NS can regulate better through fluctuations, PMS symptoms reduce, menstrual cramps decrease, mood stability improves.

Regular chiropractic throughout cycle = smoother hormonal transitions, less severe PMS, better regulation.

If you’re living on Excedrin and avoiding bright lights, know that there is hope in managing naturally. Chronic headaches and migraines are often nervous system issues - and we see it resolve everyday in our office.

You’ve tried everything:
-Pain meds (Excedrin, Tylenol, prescription meds)
-Botox injections every 3 months
-Avoiding triggers (impossible to avoid life, stress, hormones, weather)
-“Just dealing with it”

But headaches keep coming back. Migraines still knock you out for days. You’re missing work, canceling plans, living in fear of the next one.

Here’s what’s actually causing your headaches:
Upper cervical imbalance (C1-C2): Your top two vertebrae sit at the base of your skull, affecting brainstem, blood flow to brain, and trigeminal nerve (major migraine trigger). When out of balance, migraine frequency increases.

Forward head posture: Every inch your head sits forward = 10 extra pounds of pressure on your neck. Chronic C1-C2 compression from screens, desk work.

Muscle tension: Tight neck/shoulder muscles create trigger points that refer pain to your head (feels like headache, source is your neck).

Nervous system dysregulation: Chronic stress keeps you in sympathetic mode. Your migraine threshold lowers (takes less to trigger one).

Hormonal fluctuations: Affect nervous system directly. When spine is balanced and NS regulated, hormonal headaches reduce.

Chiropractic addresses root causes:
-Upper cervical adjustments reduce brainstem pressure, improve blood flow, decrease migraine frequency/intensity
-Postural correction fixes forward head position
-Nervous system regulation shifts you out of chronic stress (raises migraine threshold)
-Muscle release work addresses trigger points
-Adjustments have anti-inflammatory effects

Research shows:
72% of migraine patients report significant improvement with chiropractic
Average 90% reduction in migraine frequency after 2 months consistent care
Many patients reduce or eliminate migraine medication

If you’re living on pain meds, avoiding lights, missing life because of headaches - your nervous system needs support, not just symptom management.

There is healing. Let’s address the root cause.

If you’re working out consistently but still feel stiff, weak, or limited in certain movements - it’s not lack of effort. It’s nervous system interference.

Your brain controls every muscle contraction through signals sent down your spinal cord. When your body has imbalances, those signals get disrupted. Your muscles can’t receive clear commands from your brain.

That’s why you have:
-Limited range of motion in certain joints
-Weakness on one side vs. the other
-Compensation patterns that lead to injury
-Stiffness that stretching doesn’t fix

Chiropractic adjustments restore the communication between your brain and muscles. When nerve flow is clear, your body can move the way it’s designed to.

In our office, people start regaining mobility they thought was gone forever, building strength in areas that were always “weak,” and moving without pain for the first time in years.

It’s not magic. It’s restoring nervous system function so your body can perform optimally.

Want better mobility and real strength? Start with chiropractic care.

First day of spring = time to reset your family’s immune system. 🌸

Your family just spent months indoors, fighting off winter viruses, dealing with less sunlight, and accumulating stress in their nervous systems.

Your immune system is depleted and now spring is here with its own challenges: pollen overload, temperature fluctuations, Daylight Saving exhaustion, lingering viruses, and increased outdoor activity (more exposure).

If you don’t reset now, spring becomes a season of constant allergies, infections, and struggling to keep up - instead of the fresh start it’s supposed to be.

Don’t let spring get your family’s immune system down, optimize everyone together by adding in “the reset plan” for spring:
☀️ Morning sunlight (resets circadian rhythm, boosts vitamin D)
💚 Chiropractic adjustments (removes winter stress, supports immune function)
💧 Increase hydration (supports lymphatic drainage)
🥗 Add spring produce (vitamin C, antioxidants, fiber)
🏃 Daily outdoor movement (lymph needs movement to drain)
😴 Consistent sleep (immune repair happens overnight)

Chiropractic care is the foundation - removing spinal interference from winter, supporting lymphatic drainage before allergy season, regulating stress response, and building immune resilience for spring exposures.

Families who reset at the beginning of spring have fewer allergies, don’t catch the spring colds going around, have more energy, and actually ENJOY the season.
Families who skip it struggle all season long.
Don’t wait until you’re sick. Reset NOW.

Drop 🌸 if you’re ready to reset your family’s immune system and have your healthiest spring yet.

Are you struggling with pain while breastfeeding? Check your posture before you blame your latch. 🤱

Most lactation support focuses on how you’re holding the baby. But here’s what’s missing: how is YOUR body positioned?

When you’re hunched over for every feed - shoulders rounded, neck craned down, upper back curved forward - you’re creating:
-Massive tension in your neck, shoulders, and upper back
-Rib stress and tension that restricts breathing and positioning
-Spinal stress that affects your nervous system’s ability to relax (which you need for letdown)
-Physical strain that makes feeding uncomfortable for YOU

And when your body hurts, feeding becomes something you dread instead of enjoy.

The posture mistakes most moms make:
❌ Leaning down to baby instead of bringing baby up to breast
❌ Hunching shoulders forward
❌ Craning neck to watch the latch
❌ No back support
❌ Arms unsupported (holding baby’s full weight)

What proper positioning looks like:
✓ Bring baby TO your breast (use pillows to elevate)
✓ Shoulders relaxed and back
✓ Lumbar support behind lower back
✓ Head neutral (not constantly looking down)
✓ Arms supported on pillows or armrests

If you were experiencing pain during pregnancy, birth, and postpartum recovery - you physically CAN’T maintain good posture, even when you try.
Your body is stuck in compensation patterns, your ribs are under stress, and your upper back is locked in a forward curve.

This is where chiropractic care becomes essential for breastfeeding moms:
We balance the neuro-spinal system (especially upper back and ribs), release chronic tension in neck and shoulders, restore proper posture so comfortable positioning is possible, and support your nervous system so you can actually relax during feeds.

When your body is in a state of ease and your nervous system is regulated, breastfeeding gets SO much easier - for you AND baby.

“Mom, why is my brain like this?” This is how I would explain ADHD to my child. 🏎️

Kids with ADHD have a Ferrari engine (fast, powerful, intense brain) but bicycle brakes (under-developed executive function in the prefrontal cortex).

They think fast, feel everything intensely, have amazing ideas - but the part of their brain that helps them stop, focus, organize, and regulate? It’s still developing.

So when they can’t sit still, forget things, interrupt, or get intensely upset - it’s not that they’re not trying. It’s that they have a race car brain with bicycle brakes that are still being built.

When the spine is imbalanced, brain-body communication is disrupted. Signals between the powerful engine and the developing brakes get fuzzy.

Chiropractic helps:
-Upper cervical work supports the brainstem (which connects to prefrontal cortex function). -Nervous system regulation helps shift them out of constant “race mode” so they can access their brakes.
-Better brain-body communication makes the signals clearer.

We’re not slowing down their race car brain (that would be sad - those brains are INCREDIBLE).
We’re supporting their nervous system so their brakes can work better while they’re still developing.

This isn’t about “curing” ADHD. It’s about supporting the nervous system foundation that affects focus, regulation, and executive function.

Your child isn’t broken. They’re not too much. They’re not failing. They have a race car brain - and that’s going to be their superpower once they learn to control it.

We see kids with ADHD thrive when their nervous system is supported. Better focus, improved emotional regulation, less impulsivity, more confidence.

We are about to challenge something you’ve been told is essential for baby sleep.
Swaddling.
Arms pinned tight.
Legs straight.
“Babies need it to sleep.” “It’s the only way to prevent the startle reflex.”

But here’s what they’re not telling you: Every time you restrict your baby’s movement, you’re restricting their neurological development.
Right now, your baby’s brain is forming neural connections at a rate that will never happen again.
And what drives that process? Movement, sensory input, touch, and pressure. The feeling of their arms and legs moving through space is good for neurological development.

Every time your baby reaches, grasps, kicks, stretches - neural pathways are forming, brain-body connections are strengthening, and their nervous system is integrating sensory information that literally builds their brain.

Swaddling stops all of that.

Arms pinned means no reaching, no grasping, no self-soothing.
Legs straight means no natural hip movement, no proprioceptive feedback.

And the startle reflex? It’s supposed to be there. It’s a primitive reflex that should naturally integrate as your baby’s nervous system matures. When you restrict it, you’re not allowing it the opportunity to integrate.

“But my baby won’t sleep without being swaddled.”
I hear you.

Babies who “need” swaddling usually have nervous system dysregulation - often from birth.

The tight wrap isn’t fixing their sleep problem- it’s masking their nervous system dysregulation. When we address that through gentle adjustments - releasing birth trauma, supporting their nervous system - sleep improves naturally, without restricting the movement their developing brain desperately needs.
Imagine your baby sleeping peacefully with arms free- self-soothing and their brain developing optimally because you gave them the gift of free movement.

You don’t have to trade development for sleep.
There’s another way.

If you’re pregnant and can’t breathe through your nose, you’re not imagining it.

Pregnancy rhinitis affects 20-30% of pregnant women - and most doctors just say “deal with it until delivery.”
But you don’t have to suffer through it, mama.

Here’s what’s happening:
Estrogen increases → nasal blood vessels swell → congestion
Progesterone increases → relaxes nasal passages → more swelling
Blood volume increases 40-50% → more blood flow to mucous membranes → constant stuffiness

This leads to mouth-breathing all day and night, can’t sleep lying down, and most decongestants aren’t pregnancy-safe.

Natural remedies that actually work:
🌊 Saline nasal rinse (neti pot) 2x daily
💨 Humidifier while sleeping
💧 Drink 80-100oz water daily (thins mucus)
😴 Elevate your head while sleeping
🌿 Steam inhalation (add eucalyptus if provider approves)
🍋 Lemon + honey + warm water
🧂 Salt cave/halotherapy (pregnancy-safe)

How chiropractic helps:
Upper cervical and thoracic adjustments support lymphatic drainage from sinuses, improve nervous system regulation of inflammation, release tension restricting breathing, and help optimize rib and diaphragm function (especially important as baby grows!).

Our goal is to support your body’s ability to drain, regulate, and adapt.

Try these natural remedies + chiropractic support to make breathing easier.

You don’t have to suffer through pregnancy. 💚

Drop 🤰 if pregnancy stuffiness is making you miserable. We help pregnant mamas breathe easier.

Depression.
Anxiety.
Brain fog.
Emotional dysregulation.

We’ve been taught these are “mental health issues” that need to be managed with medication, therapy, or just “trying harder.” But what if we told you that your mental health can be changed neurologically?

Your vagus nerve - the main highway between your brain and body - runs from your brainstem, past C1 (the first bone in your neck), down to your heart, lungs, and gut.
When C1 isn’t able to communicate properly due to stress and dysfunction, vagus nerve function is compromised. This can lead to:
1. Your brain can’t properly regulate mood
2. Your stress response stays activated
3. Inflammation increases in the brain
4. Anxiety and depression worsen

Research shows that chiropractic adjustments (especially upper cervical) increase vagal tone, reduce stress hormones, improve brain-body communication, and help regulate the autonomic nervous system.
A regulated nervous system leads to:
-A decrease in anxiety
-Mood stabilizes
-Mental clarity improves
-Emotional resilience increases
-Restorative sleep can happen

We’re not saying chiropractic “cures” depression or anxiety. We’re saying it supports the nervous system foundation that controls mental health. Your brain needs clear communication with your body. When interference is removed, mental health often improves - sometimes dramatically.

Mental health is whole-body health and it starts with the nervous system.

04/13/2026

Close your eyes for a second and notice your shoulders right now. Are they up by your ears? Is your upper back tight? Are you clenching without even realizing it?

“Carrying the weight of the world on your shoulders” - we say it casually. But your body doesn’t know the difference between metaphor and reality.

When you’re carrying emotional weight, your shoulders literally hold it.
When was the last time you felt truly relaxed? Shoulders-dropped-down, breathing-deeply, jaw-unclenched relaxed? If you can’t remember, you’re not alone.
It’s because your nervous system has been in fight-or-flight for so long that muscle tension has become your baseline.
Life stresses you out, your nervous system perceives threat - not a bear, but your brain doesn’t distinguish between “actual danger” and “overwhelming stress.” So it activates fight-or-flight response. Your body braces. Upper traps pull shoulders up. Shoulder blades pull forward. Neck tightens. You’re taking a protective posture, ready to fight or run, even though you’re just sitting at your desk. This was designed to be temporary. But when “threat” is constant (chronic stress that never resolves), your shoulders never get the signal to release.
They stay tight day after day and month after month.
You get massages- feel amazing for two days, then tension screams back. This is because massage released the muscle, but your nervous system is still in fight-or-flight.

Imagine waking up one morning and your shoulders feel light. You can take a full, deep breath without restriction.
You’re not bracing for impact anymore.
That’s what we’re after. Upper neck adjustments support your vagus nerve - the nerve that tells your body it’s safe to calm down. We help your nervous system shift out of chronic sympathetic mode so shoulders can finally release.

Your shoulders are trying to tell you something. They’re holding stress you haven’t processed, the worry you can’t control, and responsibility you’re carrying alone.

What would it feel like to put it down?
