We are partnering with The McKenzie Home, a transitional home being built in Green River for single mothers and their children. There is an informational banquet and fundraiser taking place here in Casper at The M Building on April 11 at 6 pm.

The 2026 “Status of Abortion in the United States” report found that chemical abortions account for 63% of all reported abortions in the U.S. as of 2023.

Mail-order pills, which can be shipped to every state, even if they are illegal, making chemical abortion easily accessible. And state safeguards designed to protect women — such as required in-person physician visits — can be easily sidestepped.

Studies continue to show high rates of negative outcomes for women who take abortion drugs. One study found that chemical abortion has a complication rate four times that of surgical abortion. According to a 2025 study, 1 in 10 patients had “a serious adverse event” and 6% of patients required surgery.

In the 2026 Budget Session, the Wyoming Legislature passed the Wyoming Pregnancy Center Autonomy and Rights of Expression (CARE) Act, and on March 6th, the Governor signed it into law.

This bill does something simple, strong, and overdue: it protects pregnancy centers in Wyoming from ideologically driven government interference. It draws a bright line between legitimate, neutral regulation and the new political trend we have seen since Dobbs: weaponizing “oversight” to punish organizations that refuse to participate in abortion.

“Part of me felt like, “Okay, maybe this is meant to be,” she said. “But another part of me was terrified and overwhelmed. I went back and forth - one day I felt ready to keep the baby, and the next day I felt like I couldn’t handle another pregnancy so soon.”

Eventually, fear won, TaReona said.

“I found a website, ordered the abortion pills, and held onto them for about two weeks before I finally decided to take the first pill,” she said.

What came next was an all too common and heart-rending instance of a pregnant woman experiencing immediate remorse after taking the abortion pill.
