Sunday morning vibes. 🙏
“The very heart of yoga practice is Abhyasa — steady effort in the direction you want to go.”

Yoga reminds us that every time we come to our mat, we are saying yes to self renewal. Commitment to the practice helps us maintain a positive environment so we can thrive and gives us self disciple, humility and the inner strength necessary to handle whatever curveballs life throws in our direction. 🙌

WHY Yoga?
🙌🏻Our yoga practice tightens up the connection between the brain & the body allowing for controlled mindful responses vs. emotional reactions.
✨Yoga makes us more RESILIENT by giving our psychological endurance a boost.
🙌🏻 Yoga increases our ability to process stress leading to STRENGTH vs. DEPLETION.
✨Yoga finely tunes our Pre-Frontal Cortex ~ the part of our brain where we make decisions from.
🙌🏻 Yoga enhances our access to effective sleep patterns increasing our ability to recover from whatever life throws our way. 🙌🏻
The list of benefits goes on! If you’re curious about what yoga can do for you, join me at Buka Yoga.
🙏🏻Fri@ 9am
🙏🏻Sat@10:30am

In yoga, we talk a lot about light… the inner light, the collective light, the light of wisdom, etc. But there’s nothing wrong with the dark. In the dark your own light shines even brighter... perhaps even lighting the way for others.🌟
Join me on your mat this weekend at Buka Yoga and let’s explore our light side and the shadow it creates.
🌟Core Strength & Flow Saturday (subbing for Lourdes)
🌟Hatha 2 Sunday (subbing for Laurie)

“Yoga teaches us to cure what need not be endured & endure what cannot be cured.” -BKS Iyengar

I’ve had countless people tell me they want to do yoga, but can’t do it because they lack flexibility & their body isn’t equipped to get into the poses. My response is always the same...
There’s no such thing as a “perfect” pose. The perfect pose is the one that meets you exactly where you are. It doesn’t mean you won’t feel resistance ~ it’s almost guaranteed that you WILL bump up into the edges of your discomfort. This is where the magic of the practice happens, regardless of how deep into a pose you may go. No judgement, but rather self-awareness & acceptance of whatever you’re feeling in your body & your mind.
Join me on your mat Friday morning, at Buka Yoga, in studio or online. We’ll practice the art of being present in the poses and whatever else comes with that. Sacred Sculpt on Friday. We practice at 9am. Yes you can!!!

I used to think I couldn’t meditate because my “monkey mind” was always in the drivers seat. I’d get so frustrated and quit, convincing myself that meditation just wasn’t for me...
🙏🏻 Thankfully, the lure of inner peace kept me coming back and, today, my meditation practice is rich and deep and allows me to have more resiliency in my life. 🙏🏻
🌟When life throws me unexpected curve balls, I can retreat to the inner sanctum of myself and come out feeling better about whatever challenges I’m facing, regardless of their magnitude.
✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨
If you’re curious about meditation & the power of your breath, please consider joining me ONLINE this afternoon, at 4:30, for a Yoga, Breath & Meditation practice. Register at Bukayoga.com or thru MindBody app.

Do you ever plow through your day, on auto pilot, never really checking in with yourself?🙋🏻‍♀️
It’s a normal tendency that we humans have, but whenever I do this I feel crappy AF!🤦🏻‍♀️
By giving myself a minute to really listen inward I’m honoring whatever is needed and that feels like paradise!🙃🙂
Join me for Sacred Sculpt tomorrow morning at Buka Yoga. We’ll begin with listening... 🙏🏻
In-studio & online options available at Bukayoga.com
We practice at 9:30am. Hope to see you on your mat.

Amanda’s Bio

A lifelong athlete and student of wellness and nutrition, Amanda moved to Colorado in 2007 with her husband and three young children. She began practicing yoga that same year to release tension in her neck and shoulders caused by long-distance cycling. She immediately fell in love with the physicality of yoga, and resonated with the transformative healing nature of the practice. After practicing on her own for years, Amanda completed teacher training at Anjaneya School of Yoga in Boulder and received her RYT500.

Amanda’s intuitive and playful style of teaching is influenced by fitness, pilates and several yoga lineages including Hatha yoga, which focuses on breathing and alignment, and Ashtanga yoga, which offers a more vigorous, athletic style of practice.

She strives to create an inclusive environment where students can feel good and have fun while exploring new possibilities. Amanda believes humor is an essential ingredient in yoga, and laughter is the best core exercise. She believes that with a diligent and dedicated yoga practice, anyone can cultivate a sense of stability, a clearer, more peaceful mind and a greater ability to deal with the unexpected curve balls life throws at us off the mat.

Amanda wants her students to leave their practice feeling calm, strong, inspired, and most of all more connected to themselves.
