It is with a heavy heart that I share our beloved friend and loyal practitioner Dr. Jeff Huber has passed away.

Jeff was a gentle, kind, and loving soul. Those who knew him well experienced his unique sense of humor and appreciated him for his joy and wisdom.

Jeff was an accomplished practitioner who cared deeply for this community, and truly an artist in his work. He brought comfort to so many in their times of suffering, people and animals alike.

It was my honor to know him, learn from him, and share the beauty of Chinese Medicine alongside him.

As a small business, credit card fees have affected us immensely. We are still offering cash, check, Venmo, and Zelle as payment options should you decide you’d like to avoid the fee.

This is a wonderful essay from The Institute of Classical Five-Element Acupuncture that beautifully explains the season of winter, and how you can best care for yourself during this season of sacred stillness to promote your most balanced self. I encourage everyone to read it as it only takes a few minutes, 1 page! I promise it will leave you with a greater understanding of some common winter imbalances: why the aching joints, insomnia, fatigue, back pain, knee pain, etc.. and prepare you for a vibrant Spring!

“Winter is a time of stillness and quietude, natural energy having turned inward. We call it the most Yin of all seasons: trees look skeletal, sap has sunk, outward signs of life disappearing, landscapes covered in snow. There is work happening, but deep inside. This energy is latent and potent. In this state of resting deep within, energy is collected and held in reserve. Winter is cold and dark, qualities that preserve and store. It is this concentrated internal force of winter that enables a seed to burst forth with new life in the spring. . . ”
