Yoga Nidra is BACK! Wow, it's been a while! Join Julia Sunday, April 6th! Have you done this practice before? Let us know your experience in the comments! If you're unfamiliar with this practice - keep reading!

Yoga Nidra, often referred to as "yogic sleep," is a guided practice that leads you into a state of deep relaxation and rest. While your body is completely at ease, your mind remains gently aware, allowing you to experience a unique state between waking and sleeping. This practice supports physical, mental, and emotional restoration, helping to reset patterns of stress and fatigue that build up in daily life.

In this workshop, you’ll be guided through a complete Yoga Nidra experience, beginning with simple movements and pranayama to release tension and prepare the body for stillness. From there, you’ll be led through a series of guided instructions, including body awareness techniques and visualization, designed to slow the mind and encourage deep relaxation.

No prior meditation or yoga experience is needed. All you need to do is show up in comfortable clothes, bring a yoga mat, and perhaps a blanket if you tend to get cold while resting. The practice is typically done lying down on your back, but it can also be done seated if that’s more comfortable for you. We also recommend bringing a rolled-up towel or blanket to place under your knees for lower back support, and another small towel or cushion for behind your neck or head, especially if you have neck or upper back discomfort while reclined.

New Monday Hartman series starts next Monday!

Our second 6 week series of 2024 will be devoted to boosting vitality during a very lackluster time of the year. Expect slow, nourishing movements and a healthy dose of meditation! Each of the first 5 sessions will be devoted to one of the prana vayus, with the last session being a combination of all 5.

8am-9am in person at Hartman Reserve Nature Center, virtually on Zoom, or practice with the recordings any time on juliaandreini.com

Join me at Hartman Reserve Nature Center for an ojas/vitality boosting yoga nidra practice! It's that point in the year where we begin to feel dull and lackluster without the glorious sunshine and blue skies. This practice is crafted using yoga and ayurvedic techniques to boost prana/ojas - our lifeforce and vitality!

Yoga nidra, considered both a practice and state of dreamless sleep, uses systematic relaxation aiming to unify the physical body, mind, and energy in a way that allows us to realize and reset the way we think, act, and experience daily life.

Find meditation challenging? No problem. The majority of the experience is guided. All you have to do is arrive with comfortable clothes, a yoga mat, a blanket if you are easily chilled, and an open mind. This practice is typically done laying on your back - if this is uncomfortable, it can also be done seated. A rolled up bath towel or extra yoga mat is suggested for use behind the knees, and those with neck and upper back pain might find a rolled up hand towel comforting under the curve of the neck. If you're curious about any possible physical modifications please don't hesitate to ask!
