We are hosting a COVID-19 Q&A for the community with infectious disease expert Dr. Christian Ramers. It will be in the Arrowhead Ballroom at the Lake Arrowhead Resort and Spa on Saturday, November 6th at 10:00 am. Dr. Ramers wants to make sure he addresses everyone’s concerns, so we are encouraging everyone to email questions to covid19@mchcares.com.

Dr. Christian Ramers is the Chief of Population Health and Director of Graduate Medical Education at the Family Health Centers of San Diego (FHCSD), a large Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) system serving nearly 200,000 medically underserved individuals throughout San Diego County. He is board-certified in Internal Medicine, Infectious Diseases, and Addiction Medicine. Since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, Dr. Ramers has taken on a leadership role in policy, public health, research and clinical response.

In a normal year, we would have held our biggest fundraiser of the year, Le Grand Picnic, in July. Le Grand Picnic would have been in its 29th year. However, since circumstances dictate that we forego our traditional fundraiser, we are holding our 1st Annual Sweepstakes instead.

You can enter the sweepstakes for as little as $50! We have over $15,000 in amazing prizes from Lake Arrowhead Country Club, SkyPark at Santa's Village, Snow Valley Mountain Resort, Lake Arrowhead Yacht Club, Arrowhead Lake Association, UCLA Lake Arrowhead Lodge - Conference Center & Family Resort, and Oktoberfest at Lake Arrowhead Village.

Thank you to the MCH Auxiliary for your generous donation of $25,000 to the Foundation! This gift will help the hospital purchase equipment for the Surgery Department and our Skilled Nursing Facility.

The MCH Auxiliary is a volunteer organization comprised of more than 60 members. In a typical year, the Auxiliary donates approximately 14,000 hours of their time and raises $25,000-$30,000 annually to help fund new equipment at the hospital. To date, they have given close to $600,000 to the hospital!

Thank you to the Karen Lee Ann Tiffin estate for their generosity! This wonderful gift is a true example of how you too can create a lasting legacy for future generations by donating to the MCH Foundation through the creation of a bequest in your will or trust.

This very simple instrument would save you a considerable tax expense during your lifetime and potentially relieve your family of a future tax burden.

If you would like to explore this opportunity or have questions about leaving a planned gift, please contact Kim McGuire, Director of Community Development, at (909) 436-3263.

MCH is excited to announce that it has received an incredible gift of $86,700 from the estate of Karen Lee Ann Tiffin. Karen passed away on November 13, 2020. She named MCH as the remainder beneficiary of her home on Burnt Mill Road in Lake Arrowhead. Michelle Calkins of Coldwell Banker Sky Ridge Realty was the selling agent and she closed the sale of the home in less than a month!

Every year, improvements and new equipment purchases cost the hospital over $1,000,000. This donation will go a long way towards helping the hospital keep pace with changing technology. We feel honored to be named in Karen’s trust and are so grateful for her generosity!!!

MCH Foundation Receives $400,000 Donation - one of the single largest gifts in MCH Foundation’s History.

Mountains Community Hospital Foundation is thrilled to announce that it has received an incredible gift of $400,000 from the Bloye Charitable Trust, which will be used to renovate the hospital’s main public entrance and create a central registration and waiting area for patients.

“We thank the Bloyes for this important gift which will be used for our central registration project,” said Charlie Harrison, CEO. “Right now, everyone that comes for a non-emergent service, such as blood work, mammograms, ultrasound, etc. must register in a space adjacent to our ER waiting area, potentially exposing themselves to sick patients. This project will not only improve safety, but it will enhance the patient experience by creating a comfortable waiting room and privacy for registration.”
