The Winter House lotions have been around for many years in my personal effort to make more wholesome products for my family with more natural ingredients. I made homemade lotion for my family for years when one day someone suggested to me the lotion may have a broader appeal. Since that day, The Winter House products have found their way into homes through holiday parties, hostess gifts, gifts for bridal parties, birthday presents, and everyday presents for every season! The Winter House lotions are also a favorite for local businesses such as nail salons, nursing homes and doctors' offices. Our lotions are made using olive oil, coconut oil, locally-made beeswax, and vitamin E blended with a PBA-free base lotion. In 2014, my daughter was inspired to create her own contribution to The Winter House when she created The Mudd Room, which produced organic lip balms made with beeswax, grapeseed oil, and olive oil. In 2016, she expanded her creativity to include handmade soaps and thus began Mudd Room Soapworks. The Winter House name came about organically. Each summer my children attended summer camp on Cape Cod in Massachusetts. While there, we always rented a summer cottage, leading us to refer to our home in Missouri as: The Winter House.
