“My friend, Louise, likes ravens. Until I learned some things about ravens, I was kind of judgmental. I would think, “who would like ravens- yuk!” And then one day it happened that she educated me about ravens. Among other things I learned that ravens clean up our left overs, bonds for life, both parents cooperate to raise their young, have a complex vocabulary that includes musings among mated pairs, and understand the concept of working for a reward!
Whoever would have thunk it? I didn’t know all that but upon hearing it I felt way less judgmental!
The “moral” of telling you this story is that if you find yourself being judgmental, get curious. In my case, Louise offered me information but I could have asked! Like other things and times in life, getting curious and getting information can help us change our minds.

On Thursday the DeWolf Innovation Center had the privilege of hosting New Horizons Band in the beautiful Cambridge Auditorium. Residents from Hallmar Village joined in the audience and tapped along to the beats.
