Eastern Iowa’s only comprehensive resource for family caregivers serving caregivers in need, regardless of their hospital or physician affiliation.

The Family Caregivers Center of Mercy provides services and financial need-based aid to caregivers regardless of the identity of a caregiver's or care receiver 's health care provider or insurance status. No purchase or use of items or services from Mercy is necessary to receive services and financial need-based aid provided by the Family Caregivers Center.

The Family Caregivers Center page has officially leveled up to The DeWolf Innovation Center to Aging & Dementia!

As a reminder, the DeWolf Innovation Center includes:
-The Family Caregivers Center of Mercy
-Mercy Center for Memory Health
-Age & Dementia-Friendly Smart Showroom
-Community Connections

This update keeps things cohesive and allows us to offer information on family caregiving, innovation on aging & dementia, memory health education, and much more!

The Family Caregivers Center’s Facebook profile will begin sharing more comprehensive information around aging and dementia. To reflect this change and keep things cohesive we will rename the profile to The DeWolf Innovation Center for Aging & Dementia.
Family caregivers will remain at the heart of our content, and you will still see helpful articles, caregiving tips, event updates, and fun activities! As we expand our subject matter, you will also see innovative insights, memory health education, and additional opportunities for support woven throughout.
This change will not impact you, but we wanted our audience to be aware of it to mitigate confusion. It’s also important to note that nothing is changing about the Family Caregivers Center itself, just the name of our social media page.
Thank you, and as always, we’re here to serve family caregivers in need, regardless of hospital or clinic affiliation. ❤️

Spring has sprung and that means new beginnings. Watch for an update coming to page. The Family Caregivers Center will still be showcasing the wonderful events that are happening, and start highlighting all that the DeWolf Innovation Center has to offer. Update: the Mercy Center for Memory Health will be closed Monday, March 16, along with the Innovation Center.

Monday, March 16, the DeWolf Innovation Center will be closed. Group activities have been canceled, including CR Metro Parkinson’s Exercise and Art series class. The Mercy Memory Center will be open for scheduled appointments. Please continue to monitor kcrg and Facebook for any updates. Thank you and stay safe!

As we close out this week and head into the weekend, the Innovation Center wants to remind everyone about our Community Conversations event on Monday. The author of “Day to Day Living with Dementia”, Angela Lunde will be speaking. The conversation will begin at 9:30 AM. Have a great weekend and we hope to see you Monday.

Connections Club had a Mardi Gras pancake party this week. The volunteers and members competed in a pancake relay, and we had our very own chefs (Megan and Tammy) pumping out the pancakes.

Due to the current weather conditions and following the Cedar Rapids School District closure, the DeWolf Innovation Center will be canceling all activities for Friday, February 20. This includes Living Your Best Life, Connections Club and Parkinson’s Exercise. The Center for Memory Center will remain open, as of now. Please stay safe and warm.

The DeWolf Innovation Center, including the Family Caregivers Center, Community Connections and the Center for Memory Health will be closing today at 3 PM and will be closed tomorrow in observance of the holiday. The staff wishes everyone a Happy New Year and we will see you next year!

The DeWolf Innovation Center will be closed today, December 24-26 in observance of the holiday. This includes the Center for Memory Health, Connections Community and the Family Caregivers Center. Our staff wishes everyone a safe and happy holiday.
