WINTER SOLSTICE
In the cradle of the longest night,
The world turns soft, cloaked in quiet light.
Stars whisper secrets to frost-bitten air,
As the Earth pauses, sacred and bare.
The trees stand still, their shadows deep,
Guardians of dreams that the cold winds keep.
The river's breath slows under icy lace,
Reflecting the moon’s calm, silver grace.
This is the hour of hushed renewal,
A tender moment, dark yet jewel.
For within the heart of the shadowed year,
The seed of dawn begins to appear.
Embrace the stillness, the yielding ground,
Where the cycles of time turn, profound.
Let the solstice teach, let the silence sing,
Of endings, beginnings, and the gifts they bring.
Through winter’s chill, the spark survives,
In the soul of the earth, the fire thrives.
A promise lingers in the cold’s embrace:
Light will return to warm this space.
