Hi Everyone! As we move into the New Year, I will be expanding my caseload. I have a few daytime appointments slots available if anyone is interested in therapy. I have experience working with many clients in the perinatal period, with OCD, anxiety, depression, and/or a trauma history. At this time, I have openings for teens and adults 16yrs+. I am also experienced in working with couples to restore their connection and build a healthier relationship. I offer both telehealth and in-person appointments in Central Square, NY.

Please view my Psychology Today profile for more information on insurance and pricing. Please keep in mind that many insurance companies will reimburse you for these services as well. If I am not in network with your insurance, I am also happy to assist you in finding a therapist who is.

Please reach out with any questions! Happy New Year!

Alexandra Hartle, Counselor, Pennellville, NY, 13132, (315) 873-3008, Navigating your emotions can be difficult on your own. Allow me to guide you through the therapeutic process at your own pace. Together we can set goals, develop healthy ways to cope, and practice overcoming intrusive thoughts.

Food for Thought πŸ’

Let's talk about Chickpea Quinoa Salad!

I've shared a photo of my ingredients. I don't really measure anything and this recipe is very modifiable (I use whatever veggies I have in my fridge). I recognize that some of these ingredients could be more organic or "cleaner" but as a mom of 4, sometimes convenience wins. 😜 Please message me for more details on this recipe.

Now, let's dissect some of the ingredients:

* Chickpeas- contain higher levels of Tryptophan and Vitamin B which are natural mood regulators

*Dried Berries- although healthier in raw form, they reduce neuroinflammation and improve cognitive functioning.

* Quinoa- fights depression linked deficiencies. Contains iron, B vitamins, and zinc. High in fiber and an antioxidant.

Flaxseed- Omega-3 fatty acid which is another mood-regulator. It also supports healthy digestion.

This recipe took less than 10 minutes to throw together (typically I cook my own quinoa but I ran out). If cutting veggies up sounds like a lot of work, please check out my favorite kitchen gadget, the slap chopper, to save yourself lots of time!

What's on my plate?

Omega-3 fatty acids- spinach, avocado, eggs, and a sprinkle of flaxseed are great sources of these essential nutrients.

Did you know Omega-3 fatty acids can reduce inflammation in your brain and improve cognitive function?

You might even notice a reduction in depression or anxiety symptoms!

Happy Back to School Week!

A few reminders for the grown-ups:

⭐ Cortisol levels are at their highest within an hour of waking up (for everyone!)
⭐ Delay caffeine intake and start with some ice water instead
⭐ Prep clothes and backpacks the night before- the fewer choices your kiddos need to make in the morning, the lower their stress levels
⭐ High protein breakfasts fuel the brain and fill the belly. They've been used to eating more frequently over the summer so fill those bellies before they go!
⭐ Shut down the screens at LEAST a half hour before bed to help restore circadian rhythms

Good luck to everyone as they head back to the classrooms!!

I have 2 openings at 1pm on Tuesdays and 1pm on Thursdays if anyone is interested! Telehealth or in person!

For many of us, consecutive pregnancies over lap these numbers!
