You are cordially invited to our January 2026 Continuing Education event, featuring Andrea McGrath.

Join us for a live Zoom presentation on Friday, January 23rd, 2026, at 12:00 pm Central Time, as we delve into the fascinating topic of Paranormal Activity: Separating Pathology from Culture in Anomalous Experiences.

A significant proportion of the population reports anomalous experiences, yet mental health professionals often feel ill-equipped to address these phenomena with clients, who in turn fear judgment or pathologization.

This presentation aims to equip counselors with the knowledge and strategies necessary to navigate these experiences, explore their own beliefs, and distinguish between pathology and cultural influences.

Don't miss this opportunity to enhance your practice and better serve your clients

Generational trauma is real. It is measurable on a cellular level. This cannot undo all of the horrible things that happened, but it is a step in the right direction for generational healing.

147 years after the Cheyenne broke free from the barracks at Fort Robinson, the Northern Cheyenne Journey Home Committee invites the public to return with them to honor their grandmothers and grandfathers and heal the historical trauma of the event. Join the Northern Cheyenne this FRIDAY, Jan. 9, for tribal perspectives, historical preservation, an opening ceremony and a healing walk. The programs will take place at the Mari Sandoz High Plains Heritage Center and at the Cheyenne Monument two miles west of Fort Robinson State Park.

Co-sleeping has long been debated, but research shows it can have surprising long-term effects on children. Psychologists report that children who regularly sleep in their parents’ bed often develop traits later in life that few expect.

Close nighttime contact provides a sense of security and emotional stability. This consistent reassurance helps children build confidence in themselves and trust in others. The emotional benefits of co-sleeping extend beyond childhood, influencing social and emotional traits as children grow.

One notable trait linked to co-sleeping is higher emotional intelligence. Children who feel safe and connected at night learn to recognize and manage their own emotions while understanding the feelings of others. This foundation fosters empathy, self-awareness, and resilience.

These effects highlight the importance of presence and comfort in early development. While routines and boundaries are essential, nurturing closeness at night can create lasting benefits that go beyond sleep.

Parents can support healthy emotional growth by combining warmth, consistent routines, and attentive caregiving. The quiet moments of shared sleep may quietly shape children into more emotionally aware, confident, and socially capable adults.

We don’t hold on to our kids through perfect experiences or grand gestures.

The simplest way to hold on is through rituals — the small, steady movements of gathering, restoring, repairing, and delighting that invite our children to rest in our care.

These 10 attachment rituals are everyday ways of saying,
“You belong with us. You can rest here.”

All of these just require your presence — nothing fancy, nothing scripted. And they matter now more than ever in a world that keeps pulling kids outward: to screens, to peers, to the pressures of growing up too fast.
These rituals keep pulling them home again.

Save this as a gentle reminder:
Connection is not a performance, a set of skills to master, or tricks to remember.
It’s simply a way of showing up — again and again — in the relationship that matters most.

Which one of these are working for you?
