Hello again everyone, I know that many of you are still waiting to hear an update from Jerri and I. Circumstances being what they are time has gotten away from me so I apologize. I have decided at present not to pursue an alternate work location so I can focus on family for now. I do hope to start up again in the future, but cannot tell when that might be just yet. Jerri is still working hard to regain her health, though it is a harder battle for her than any of us though it would be. We appreciate the continued prayers and well wishes from all of you, the suggestions, gifts, and referrals. All are greatly appreciated. If any of you happen to have recommendations for alternate health practitioners in the field of oncology and immune support in northern Colorado, western South Dakota, or western Kansas, we'd love to hear from you about them (reminders at this point are also appreciated as our minds were a little muddy in the beginning of all of this).

We know many of our friends have been following our personal journey for several months now. With sadness we are officially announcing that we have permanently closed. Thank you for 32 wonderful years, we are so grateful for them all!

🌄 EVERY MOUNTAIN HAS MEANING 🧗🏼‍♀️
Sometimes in life we come to very hard decisions; not every path we face is promised to be easy. "In our darkest moments, we must focus to see the light." For those who haven't heard, the past eight months have been fraught with especially difficult health challenges that we as a family never EVER thought we'd have to face, especially having been long time wellness advocates and educators. Life doesn't always play fair though, and many ailments one may encounter as they get older are fierce and non-discriminatory. In spite of the battle, remember that every "mountain” you face has meaning, and it's in digging for the priceless treasures buried deep in every struggle that one will find life's richest and most amazing eternal blessings. 🕊️

After 32 years of service through The Great Escape in Chadron, I am exploring a new chapter in my own life, and by default "The Great Escape" is officially having to close it's doors (at least in the interim 🙏🏼). I have loved every moment of working with every one of you. Thank you for trusting me with your own pain and health challenges. God smiled on me when He brought me here to provide to this region, and there is nothing that has made me happier than providing our Midwest-Nebraska communities with the beautiful God-given gift of nurturing, therapeutic touch. Thank you for the opportunity to serve you in a professional sense, and for those who have been with us the longest, for your friendship! You are priceless!! 💖

What does this mean for you?

Well, Heather is hopeful to maintain a space to provide wellness services in the area, but is in an unexpected battle with insurance for coverage to work out of our old building, and it's not looking like a promising prospect at the moment -- home based businesses are under siege apparently, and this just came to our attention with less than one week's notice. She will be keeping the public informed of her progress in reopening under her own business name in a different location, she just isn't 100% sure where that might be at the moment. It seemed a hopeless case when they took Him off the cross that day. All their hopes were dashed to pieces. They wanted freedom. They wanted peace. Now Jesus was buried in the grave and they believed they had gained neither, and most everything else besides. He knew they would suffer great heartache, yet in death He rested, just as He did after creation. Why did He not burst from the grave on Sabbath (the seventh day) morning? Why did He wait? "For I am the LORD, I change not... (Malachi 3:6 KJV)" also, "and we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose (Romans 8:28 KJV)" Just as He did when He culminated His week of creation with the creation of mankind, He calls us to rest, "And on the seventh day He rested..." Gen. 2:2-3. There was a divine purpose in it then; there is still. (See Hebrews 4) He wants us to come to Him and rest, to give our soul a respite from all the chaos in our midst. To commune with Him, to rest in His presence, and worship Him corporately on a weekly basis. Did you know this?

We hope you find the rest and peace you need today. No matter what trails you are experiencing. "All things with together for good..." even if we don't understand everything in the moment, one day the reasons for your trails will be made known to you and you will rejoice. Rest in Him, that is the greatest joy. Happy Easter weekend, everyone (in remembrance of Him) 🙏🏼❤️

MASSAGE THERAPISTS ARE LIKE FLOWERS 🌸🌹🌻🏵️🌼🌺🥀... they are all different, and they won't all fit your preference. It's critical to find one you like! Just like flowers have their own unique qualities about them, every massage therapist has their own personality, touch quality, and working style unique to them. You would never pick out death lilies to gift someone at their birthday party, would you? Or take a show-stopping array of sunflowers to a funeral? Or pass up roses for bindweed in a sweetheart's bouquet? Out of place flowers are the same as out of place therapists. Some flowers are "loud" and showy and don't fit in well with a quiet, serene scene. Some flowers are gentle and delicate and are completely out of place inside a big, bold, breathtaking bouquet. Some flowers are sweet, some are spicy, some have no fragrance at all. If you find that the therapist you're seeing isn't delivering the service you want, for your sake (and theirs), it's time to search for someone else. Make your spring "bouquet" of health professionals one that you need and one that fulfills you inside and out. You'll be grateful you did!!

⛹️‍♀️🚴‍♀️ GET UP AND MOVE 🏊‍♀️🚣‍♀️
When we are active and are blood is flowing readily, we help create an inhospitable environment for bacteria within our body (it's a conclusion easily deduced though the study in question focuses more on in-lab testing). The old adage forever holds true, "A stagnant pool breeds disease; and likewise a stagnant body breeds disease."

When it comes to the health of the muscles, joints, and bones, disease also progresses when we fail to move. We are taught in massage school that, "motion is lotion." Our joints require movement to produce synovial fluid that cushions and lubricates them. Our bones require movement and force to create the piezoelectric effect that stimulate osteoblasts to regenerate boney tissue. Our muscles require movement to prevent stagnation and toxin buildup will as delivery of oxygen and nutrients to prevent pain and dysfunction. Movement also helps keep our fascia from binding to itself and other tissues.

When we stop moving, we age faster, we hurt worse, and our bodies become centers for a host of disease processes. Get up and move... there's no better time to start than today!
