here! Traditionally our field has had a majority of its clientele from the autistic community BUT we haven’t done a great job listening to autistic voices and celebrating neurodiversity. This post by Dr Yulika Forman has some awesome suggestions for professionals and parents in the comments section. I also encourage you to follow more individuals who identify as autistic. They have and continue to teach me so much. -Lauren (owner/clinician of ) ❤️ Repost: Yulika Forman, PhD, LMHC] I wanted to post this as soon as I could so that this thoughtful school administrator has enough time to prepare.
It always makes me so happy to hear from teachers, school administrators, and school therapists who want to learn. Imagine going to a school that "sees" you as an autistic student.
Let's put our heads together to answer this question, and we will know that somewhere in NC autistic students will feel seen. This could also be a good opportunity for parents to get ideas to suggest at their children's schools. I will make a post with a summary of suggestions as well.
And don't worry, I am coming back to the conversation about behavior. I will be posting on stimming, and I even have a reel coming up! Yes, I made a reel!
