Muscle Dialogues with Jace Kerrin, LMBT

Muscle Dialogues with Jace Kerrin, LMBT Empathic, lighter pressure massage allows the system to reach out and ask for assistance, direct the therapy, and find it's way home to a true resting place.

You know your body best. Tell me what you need help with and I will listen. I use a gentle pressure to unwind stiff muscles, old patterns of holding (body armor), and overwhelmed nervous systems. If massage has left you bruised, sore, or sick afterward, your body was overstimulated and your needs were not heard. You should feel relieved and lighter afterward, and your body can continue the relaxin

g as you go out into your day. The lessening of pain, anxiety and tension should be our goal and outcome.

* Lighter pressure bodywork (light to medium pressure used)
* Myo-fascial Release
* Trigger-Point Release
* Cranial Sacral Therapy
* Reiki energy work (Level II)
* Reflexology (feet only)
* Basic Lymphatic Drainage
* Pregnancy massage (prenatal)

Just saw a podcast post asking if Massage Therapists should "look the part"...
Here is my reply:

I have been a licensed massage therapist for 17 years. I was my family and friends' go-to for any massage fixable needs for 24 years before I went to school. In-between my 'amateur' work and my professional career, I did 3 years of massage school, at a part-time level. So, from 44 years of 'doing the work' of healing thru massage, I can say that "looking the part" is about taking good care of yourself, to be a client of massage regularly, and to attend daily to your own wellness, (mental, emotional, relational). But I completely disagree with a standardized "look" for Massage Therapists!

I only seriously considered going to school from the day I met my 1st "regular sized" therapist! Being plus-sized myself, before this instance, I had never seen a massage student, teacher, or therapist who looked like me. The relief that whooshed over me in that moment was life changing ❀

And even in my practice of massage, I see that same relief in my clients faces and bodies, when I walk out to meet them for the first time. My non-athletic, non-perfect self gives them space to just be. Judgement-free space has to model diversity in body-types too.
