“We’ve been taught to acquire things.
Not what to do when they’re taken away.”

Grief is in things we’ve lost big and small. Death, life changes, body changes, regrets, changes on the job, a life pre-pandemic (🙋🏻‍♀️!!!!!).

Grief is also a HUGE part of our Covid experience. Workers who’ve faced the front lines of it all. The loss of loved ones. The loss of a life permanently changed. The loss of a carefree childhood. The loss of our village. It goes on. And as life gets back to so-called normal, I find myself struggling bc we haven’t really deal with what we’ve just witnessed.

🎉1st postpartum run.
Perhaps a baby, grad school, parental caretaking, pandemic life, launching a new biz, pregnancy, miscarriage, another pregnancy and baby #2 could all be framed as a fitness setback. Instead I think of life in seasons. The days of hours at the workout studio might be behind me for now, but I want to keep building. Strength, flexibility, pain-free, and cardio capacity to keep up with a toddler (why are 3yo ultra-marathon levels??). My goals might be different on paper than 5 years ago.
But the mantra is the same: Move. Your. B***y.
And damn if it don’t feel good.
