We never add “motherhood” to a resume… but honestly, it may be the most qualifying experience on there.
Moms are out here:
* managing operations
* handling conflict resolution
* negotiating with irrational clients
* surviving on no sleep
* and keeping tiny humans alive who actively try to unalive themselves with household objects
A corporate leader says, “I thrive in fast-paced environments.”
A mom once made it to school drop-off, a work meeting, soccer practice, and Target with a child who had a stomach bug and another who suddenly remembered at 9:47 PM they needed “20 cupcakes for tomorrow.”
Motherhood teaches:
* crisis management
* multitasking
* emotional intelligence
* budget management
* advanced interrogation skills (“who touched the thermostat?”)
* and the ability to hear a drawer open from two floors away while fully asleep
Also, no employee performance review will ever be as humbling as your teenager yelling, “BRUH, are you wearing THAT?” in public.
To all the moms balancing careers, caregiving, and chaos: thank you. Society may not list motherhood as executive experience… but we all know who’s really running operations.
