Last week, I had the opportunity to introduce some of the students from Burke High School to sound therapy.
They were so curious and open to the experience and really just surrendered to it, which was something that I did not anticipate! They truly enjoyed it and came out of it relaxed and elated, wanting more.
For me, this is what the practice is all about. Giving the deepest love and service to those who truly need it the most within our community. So often, today’s children are put under stressors that no grown adult should even undertake and this becomes a part and parcel of the way that they respond to their environment.
A kid should be able to have fun, be free, and relax, but too often that’s not an affordable luxury in today’s society.
Teaching kids how to become aware of stress in their bodies, to regulate their nervous system, and giving them tools to use when they are feeling under pressure is the mindful approach that could radically shape our future generations and their impact on a better society.
As stewards for unity, we need to look for these opportunities within all levels of society, that all people despite age, race, background, and gender have access to the modalities that benefit the health of the mind body connection.
And it is this that gives me so much.
A big thank you to for the opportunity. I truly can’t wait to return to Burke and continue learn from these incredible kids. They are life’s greatest teachers 💕
