Sophia is a valued member of our B Team PRC and brings dedication and compassion to every patient interaction. She is currently studying with the goal of becoming a doctor one day, and her passion for patient care shines through in everything she does.

Sophia gives her all to AFC, and our patients inspire her to be her best each day. Outside of work, she enjoys snowboarding, reading, drawing, and spending quality time with her family. We’re grateful to have her as part of the AFC Ballantyne team!

RSV (Respiratory Syncytial Virus) is very common in young children and can cause more serious symptoms in the youngest age groups.

Children can catch RSV at any age, but the highest risk for significant symptoms is in:
• Infants and toddlers under 2 years old
• Babies under 6 months, who may have more trouble breathing or feeding
• Children with asthma, chronic lung conditions, or weakened immune systems

Common RSV Symptoms in Children:
• Persistent cough
• Wheezing or noisy breathing
• Fast or labored breathing
• Fever
• Runny nose or congestion
• Decreased appetite
• Irritability or trouble sleeping
• In infants: pauses in breathing, lethargy, or difficulty feeding

Because RSV spreads easily through coughs, sneezes, shared toys, and surfaces, outbreaks in daycares and schools are common.

If your child is struggling to breathe, has a worsening cough, signs of dehydration, or severe symptoms, AFC is here to help.
