Accessible yoga.

We began practicing in our new location this weekend - and it was bliss. We all had missed seeing each other and we were like little chatterboxes but that was not the highlight.

Our intention was set around an event that happened 40 years ago - in 1986 Hands Across America which celebrates an anniversary this year. (One of our class members commented that she was there - we all wanted to know more!) it was 15 min of a living ribbon of humanity cross cities, farmland and rivers,
proven that in a vast diverse nation unity is possible - millions were raised for those who found themselves on hardships - and hope was achieved.

I connected it with the and how their efforts are sending a similar message- connectedness.

Both classes live out this every Saturday when they show up on their mats to find their inner peace and hope and then they leave their mats and take it and share it with others or they show up to practice and send energy out into the community.

As you move through this week - how are you seeking peace or sharing hope and if you are not- where can you start?

Maybe by joining us next Saturday- you can RSVP on the link in my bio-

To those of you who have allowed me to guide you at some point during the past 4 years- let this serve as a celebration and a thank you!

The picture of me with Ace Henry and Hershey serves as my new year intention- “press pause” -

On November 16th on a day the woods was calling me for some alone time to mourn and reflect- we were close to the end of our walk when we were intrigued my a large camera lens pointing in our direction - (well not exactly at us) but enough to peak our interest and “press pause”- We met Jamie who we later learned was hoping to start a photography business of taking photos of animals- not before he offered to take a picture of me with my dogs and if any of you have met our dogs you know “pressing pausing” is not really in their vocabulary 🤣- but even they obliged- Jamie and I chatted for a bit and exchanged numbers and later he sent me this beautiful photo and I promised to post so everyone else could see his talent. Thank you Jamie!

For me- I see beyond the beauty - I see two strangers who chose to “press pause” and show kindness to each other - wonder what it would be like if you tried this intention for yourself this upcoming year… wonder what beauty you could create…

Be Well Yogis until we see each other on the mats in the new year!

I had the privilege of teaching a yoga class(although I am sure the bridal party would come up with a different name for it- since we were able to squeeze in a “soul train” line”🤣) …But in my teaching…dancing is yoga…

What a wonderful group… but the bride who is near and dear to my families’ heart is something special… thank you for the opportunity to make my heart sing on a Saturday morning!

If you are interested in booking me for a yoga class for any event- bridal party- work- family gathering or even a private session - DM me!

Meet Ace Henry! In the middle of what I now refer to as “August madness” - our family felt called to rescue this sweet boy from - one of my closest friends helped to bring him into our lives-

So Ace Henry will join post as he has his own set of lessons for us to learn from-

Ace Henry was going to be euthanized just like our “Queen Hershey” at a year old and his rescue saved him! We just knew he was supposed to be ours.
(Even if we call his name like 20x’s per name-like parents do when they say their kids’ middle names …😂😂you know what that means…

He is a 1 year old Vizsla-Doberman mix - fun, active, loves his humans, his tennis balls 🎾 and chasing frogs 🐸!

Stay tuned for more from AceHenry!

This weekend we practiced around one of the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali, the phrase “Yoga chitta vritti nirodhah” (Sutra 1.2) which is a cornerstone concept. It translates to “Yoga is the cessation of the fluctuations of the mind,” highlighting the core aim of yoga as quieting the mind’s constant activity- Chitta refers to the mind or consciousness, while vritti denotes the fluctuations or modifications of the mind, often described as “mind chatter” or “monkey mind”. Therefore, nirodhah, meaning cessation, is the goal: to calm the mind’s fluctuations and achieve a state of mental clarity and stability.

Pantalaji goes on to say if we can control our mind we can control everything and nothing binds us- now it does not say we can control others, situations, etc -it is only referring to our mind - This is no way saying that this who suffer with mental health diagnosis’s can control them - those are real and can be debilitating).

This concept just encourages us all to practice yoga so that we can stay focused on the present moment-to breath and come back to our centers.

Come and check us out at the creek as we engage in more of the Yoga Sutras!

Nature is more than something we marvel at - it's also our greatest teacher.

Hershey and I encountered this little one on our walk- and my initial instinct was to rescue it assuming it was injured. But I quickly texted our waterfowl rescue for guidance and Debbie set me straight.

The baby bird was fledging - learning to fly - she asked me if I heard sqawking at a nearby tree and I surely did!

This was so timely as we are sending our youngest off to college.

It's a reminder that our role is to protect encourage, help our children grow and then “free” them…

So if this speaks to you as a parent or if you are embracing change in your life or someone close to you is…Just watch with pride.
