What are some of the differences between COACHING and THERAPY?

While I do have a background in mental health counseling & often approach my work with clients from a trauma-informed lens, my role as a coach is different than the role of a therapist. I am a strong believer in the power of both coaching AND therapy and recommend either or both to people depending on their presenting concerns & goals 🤩💛

Anyone have any audition affirmations to add to the list? These are some of my favorites to share with clients and to use for my own audition prep! 💛

The KEY to affirmations is consistency. Write them on sticky notes and hang them around your room, make them your phone lock screen, say them to yourself in the mirror every day 🪞

I had the best time with The Alli Mae Carnes Studio and her lovely students yesterday💖

We had such a wonderful time in our workshop yesterday with .coaching! Alyssa provided so many wonderful resources and techniques for the students on how to manage audition nerves/performance anxiety. I learned some things too! What kind of auditions do you have coming up (school, college, community theatre, regional theatre, self-tapes, etc.)?? 💫🎬🎭

This is the kind of resource my younger self really needed, instead of feeling like I was in it all alone and making myself sick with nerves before auditions 😖

The BEST feeling isn’t my clients’ “wins”, but the fact that they’re so proud and excited to share them with me 🥹

Whether or not an audition goes the way my clients hope, I am sooo happy when they feel comfortable sharing their reactions with me 💙
It’s just the cherry on top when manifestations come true 😉🎉

One of my favorite things is helping people build their coping skills toolbox 🧰🛠🪛 my clients know I’m a very visual learner so I love bringing graphics into sessions to reference as we learn about and practice new skills 💬

Which type of coping is YOUR go-to and which area do you have some room to grow in?
I tend to go for emotional release (going on walks, yoga, having a good shower cry) and distractions (reading, knitting, watching tv) 👀
I’m working on doing more grounding and challenging thoughts!
