It’s been a big weekend for trail running in Colorado! Great to see so many runners getting after it and so many new course records.

Attempted my first ultramarathon running race in 8 years today.
Hit my goal of breaking 7 hours, and 25 minutes faster than my first go 8 years ago, when I was 30, and thought I was in the best ultra shape of my life - shout out to strength training & skimo!
A hip surgery and shoulder surgery later, I’m Incredibly grateful for what my body continues to allow me to do.
And love that I get to spend my life helping others defy aging and injuries and perform their best!
Hoped to hold on to 10th place after Aspen & Highlands, but still happy with 16th overall!
Shout out to all those who have supported me through training and all the folks out cheering us on today. ❤️

Life is the ultimate ultramarathon. And people 90-100 are the ultimate athletes - and one of my favorite decades to work with. A good reminder that we can improve and live better at any age, no matter the challenges and setbacks life throws at us.

Grateful to have had the opportunity to participate in The Rehab Right, Run Fast course in Denver this past weekend. Jay Dicharry has been a longtime role model, and with Joe Uhan, the first two people to inspire me to start considering Physical Therapy as a profession - about 13 years ago.
Also, shout out to Carrie Lane, the strength coach for the Under Armor Professional Running Team, who took us through a deeper dive on running economy and performance. It’s nice to take things full circle and have a much more fine-tuned and detail -oriented understanding of all those drills and exercises we did in when I was running the 800 in D1 20 years ago.
I will be posting and sharing pearls from this course in the coming weeks. Stay tuned!

A lot of people want to know what they can do to decrease pain and stiffness. It may seem obvious to reach for a couple ibuprofen or Aleve, but have you ever asked why they work? or if there's a better option?

INFLAMMATION.... is a primary component of virtually every body ailment - from Cancer & Hearth Disease to Osteoarthritis & Alzheimer's - and is a result of fluid and chemicals produced by your white blood cells.

Interestingly, there known foods that are PRO-Inflammatory or ANTI-Inflammatory. Meaning that your diet could be making the difference between you feeling pain... or not.

For some patients, just cutting back on sugar and alcohol has helped improve their mobility and dramatically decrease their knee pain.
