The Charlotte Birth Collaborative is the largest and most diverse group of its kind in Charlotte! We have 20 professionals throughout all areas of Charlotte who cover every aspect of pregnancy, birth and postpartum.
Our Professionals
Childbirth Educators - teach birthing classes during your pregnancy. Some teach group classes; private classes are often also available.
Labor Doulas - our labor doulas work in teams to support you from pregnancy through the first week or two of postpartum. Labor Doulas provide continuous support (informational, emotional and physical) throughout your labor and birth.
Postpartum Doulas - come alongside families to make sure the mother’s and baby’s physical and emotional needs are being met. They have additional training in basic newborn care, breastfeeding support & infant CPR.
Lactation professionals - have more intensive training in breastfeeding support than our other professionals. They do personal consultations and some teach classes and hold local support groups. If you need breastfeeding support – don’t wait! The earlier you ask for help, the easier it is to overcome any struggles!
Many of our professionals also have other services to offer such as: birth art, birth photography, bereavement doula services, placenta encapsulation, and education on nutrition, essential oils, and other areas of health.
